The timer is ok. I would prefer the timer to turn on the lamp rather than off. But the instructions say don't use the lamp for too long which is why there is an off timer. I manually turn the lamp off when I don't need it anymore. I use it for reading at night.
On a review someone complained about the lamp being plastic; it is, so what. It still looks pretty cool.
A remote control would be really good. You get what you pay for although I think I got a bit more than I paid for. I think this is good value for money, doesn't take up too much room and provides a really good level of 'day-light'.

This item has been placed on my bedside table since purchase. It works fine and is a great item. But, today, I have gone to clean my bedside table and the lamp is completely, solidly, super glued to my bedside table. I would need a chisel to rip it off the table. It seems whatever glue the manufacturer has used has leaked from inside and glued the base completely. It's so odd and will completely ruin my recently bought bedside table. Not to mention the lamp itself will break because it is made from plastic. Amazon issued refund and instructed me to approach seller for a resolution to the damage caused.
