I always look forward to book releases by David Archer and Blake Banner, but found much disappointment in "All the King's Men." Their editor failed in many places, which always kinda makes me angry. When you buy a book, you expect certain things, and good editing is a big one for me. While the errors don't take away from the story, they do take away from my enjoyment.
I know that a lot of unrealistic scenarios are put into stories to make the good guys seem more invincible, but they have to be believable to some degree. Many such scenarios in this book had no chance of being believable for me. Without any spoilers, two bullets fired by two people at the same time hitting each other and fusing together in the intended target. Good reading, well yeah, but believable? No.
All that being said, the book is another good one. Well worth reading from these two great authors. I will continue to purchase and read their works with great anticipation.

The last book in the series was so much better. This one desperately needs copy editing, and an editor to tell the authors the “female assassin” could have been written better. There was an opportunity for suspense that was either ignored or missed. Dialogue wasn’t nearly as sharp either. I still read it, and so will lots of other people, and I will read the next one, but certainly NOT because of this one.

I usually enjoy the Alex Mason stories for their fast paced action and their satisfying plot lines. This outing was less than stellar. I not only felt that there was more action than plot, but the typos and skipped words made me constantly stop to re-read a word or sentence. I missed the suavely elegant plots of previous books where I felt engaged in the puzzle.
