Chris Philbrook is the creator and author of the urban fantasy series The Reemergence, the dark fantasy series The Kinless Trilogy, sci-fi Colony Lost, the cosmic horror series The Darkness of Diggory Finch, and the post apocalyptic epic Adrian's Undead Diary. He also writes young adult science fiction under the pen name W.J. Orion.

Chris' first book in print was The Wrath of the Orphans, the initial book of The Kinless Trilogy set in his grim, post-apocalyptic fantasy world of Elmoryn.

Adrian's Undead Diary has thirteen titles available in print, eBook and audio, with two or three more planned.

Tesser: A Dragon Among Us is Chris' first foray into the world of urban/contemporary fantasy. There are five books released in the series.

The Darkness of Diggory Finch is a snarky take on Lovecraftian horror set in quaint, corrupted New England. TDoDF is set for five books, and two are out as of this writing.

Colony Lost has a single full-length release as of right now, plus a sequel eBook called Colony of Lies. Three eBook sequels are planned, which will be collated into a full-length print, audio, and eBook release when completed.

Chris is the owner of Tier One Games LLC, his game development company. He and his creative partner Jason DeBit are working on a 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting titled RockJockeys. He also co-owns Latchkey Comics with artist Jason Casey. He prefers to collaborate artistically with people named Jason.

Chris calls the wonderful state of New Hampshire his home. He is an avid reader, writer, role player, miniatures game player, video game player, painter and procrastinator. He and his wife share their home with two perfect daughters.

The thing that I liked the most about this one was that the bad guys are well written. Not shallow patsys that are simple punching bags for the good guys to beat up (well, there are some of those). The villain pursues his plan with passion and forethought.

I'm not gonna lie. This one took me a little bit to get into. Tesser did too for that matter. They were all new characters in a genre outside my comfort zone so really it's me, not the story telling.

The characters in Tesser really grew on me over time and I was quite comfortable moving into this novel as a result. But this story is about Ambryn. It's not Tesser part 2. Tesser is there but overall there are many new characters that take some time to develop. That's the secret to a great story after all and once the ball gets rolling, that's exactly what this is.

Philbrook's overactive imagination and wonderful talent for telling amazing stories shines brightly in this installment of the Reemergence series.

I can't wait to read the next tale from this new world where humans, dragons and many other creatures of lore attempt to coexist!

Dragons, Vampires and Werewolves Oh My !

Excellent read that is action-packed with fascinating characters. The vampires are worthy enemies but the werewolf who specializes in fighting vamps is incredible along with the Dragon, of course. Some well written storylines keep the interest high. I very much enjoyed it and can't wait for the next episode. Great job Chris.

Alright, so the second book in the series was great! It didn't quite grab me as the first one did, but that may be because I read it while my family and I wallowed in sickness... its a bit hard to concentrate on reading when you are vomiting every meal that you have ever eaten in your adult life or cleaning up the vomit of the small minions you call your progeny. That being said, it was a great installment to this series, and I cant wait to see which dragon receives the spotlight in the next book. I have my suspicions, but I'll wait to see if I'm right.

As always, Chris has done a great job at breathing life into his characters and giving each role a great voice that is wholly their own (I know I've said this before in other reviews I've left for this author, but thats the kind of thing that makes a great story and keeps me coming back for more).

I'm a big fan of Spoon, and glad that he played such a major role in this story, and hope he continues to play a big role in any upcoming installments to this series. Im also really happy with Artur. I wasn't too sure that I would like his character when he was first introduced, but love how he developed as a character. The rest of the players in this story were great as well, and wish that some had been able to stick around a little longer, or played a bigger role in the story.

I would love to see something going into the history between Belyakov and Doyle.... or really concentrating on Belyakov. He has played a bit of a minor role in both stories, and I just know that there is a great story lurking back there for him!

All in all, this was a wonderful story for this series and I'm hooked!
