About Angela Dorsey
Thirty-four middle grade novels (some that haven't been released in English yet), a number of screenplays, audiobooks, published poetry, short stories, articles, and a non-fiction book for kids, plus editing, mentoring other authors, and now creating a novel (and maybe a new series?) for grown ups!
Throughout it all, Angela has done her best to make a positive difference in the world through encouraging others to find their personal power, whether they be her readers or the talented authors that she works with.
For years, her motto was an old Japanese proverb: “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.”
But a while ago, she switched to a new one, one she made up myself:
“Believe. Create. Inspire.”
First, believe you can do it, then create your vision, and finally, allow that creation to inspire.

Maybe if that big grizzly bear didn’t decide a cow would make a nice dinner...
And the cattle didn’t stampede...
And the only way to escape from the bear is across the ice covered lake...
She is determined to save the calf, but before she can, Twilight, her mustang filly, disappears. Evy sets out to rescue her, only to stumble upon even worse danger: illegal hunters who will do anything to keep their poaching a secret.
Will Evy be one of their victims?
But as usual, adventures find her, this time in the form of an abused, drugged, and terrified mare who hates humans so much she refuses to trust even Evy. As Evy tries to help her, Twilight, her intrepid filly, is miles away and in danger.
How can Evy save them both?
Evy can telepathically understand horses, but she’s not sure if it’s a blessing or a curse. Her secret “gift” certainly seems to get her in a lot of trouble.
When some starving mustangs wander close to the wilderness cabin that she shares with her hermit mother, she knows she must help them.
Her act of kindness quickly snowballs into a series of events that forever change her life and the life of a very special mustang filly.
“Fantastic story in every way. I adored the characters and the setting and the adventure . . . and couldn't turn pages fast enough.” ~ Ev Bishop, Author
“Another super story from one of the best writers of modern pony books around. Angela Dorsey gives us a traditional old fashioned story of the love of a girl for a wild horse with an interesting and intriguing modern twist, and just a dash of mystery. Animal loving children of all ages will enjoy the story, whilst parents can be happy in the knowledge that the important values of empathy and integrity are being upheld. As with many of the author’s other books, this story explores an important issue – that of animal and human interaction and communication – whilst still delivering a page-turning story. Not an easy feat, but something this author is adept at. The book can be enjoyed at many levels and will keep the interest of a wide range of age groups, including adults. 4-5 HORSESHOES: VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT.” ~ Pony Mad Book Lovers
First, her orphaned moose calf is causing her a world of trouble. Her mom is ready to lock him up and throw away the key. Second, Evy discovers that her mom’s art dealer is stealing money from them, and even worse, he’s purposefully destroying her mom’s confidence in her art.
How can Evy prove his crime? Maybe with a little help from her friends, both horses and human – and one very rambunctious moose calf. Maybe moose trouble is exactly what her family needs!
Lisa feels helpless and outnumbered. Only one thing is for certain: she will not abandon the horse she loves. She just has to find a way to solve all the problems.
And then the very bad situation becomes infinitely worse.
Yeah, right!
With the help of some mustangs, Evy stows away in the back of her mom’s borrowed truck and heads out on the wildest ride of her life, where she’ll meet a foal in trouble and a horse who looks like an angel. She’ll find adventure, a new friend, and answers – answers so mystifying they might as well be questions.
Then at long, long last, Evy gets all the answers to her questions. Her entire world is shaken.
But are the answers truthful? There’s only one way to know for sure: Evy and her mom must confront the people who have been hunting them for her entire life.
And unfortunately, sometimes it’s much easier to confront someone than to escape from their clutches afterward!
Then Evy recognizes the occupants of the car: two people she’d hoped she’d never see again. How did they find her? And what do they want with her?
Unfortunately, she’s about to find out... the hard way!
Wanting to help, Evy enters a dangerous local race, hoping to win the prize money.
However, the Downhill Mountain Race isn’t the most important race Evy and Rusty will run – or the most perilous. At risk, not prize money, but innocent mustangs who have been forced from their wild homes. Can Evy save them?
Sun Catcher: A young girl runs from a forest fire until she finds herself alone with a strange and beautiful creature. There’s only one way to survive. She must join forces with the strange animal if they both want to survive.
Sun Chaser: Sun Catcher is racing Sunshine through the forest, trying to outrun a massive, angry grizzly, when the horse and rider galloping in front of them vanish! Where did they go?
Sun Seeker: First, Sun Catcher’s precious mare disappears into the wilderness, then half of her tribe may be lost as well. And winter has come early! What is Sun Catcher to do?
"Middle grade readers will race through the pages on their own, and younger children will enjoy the action-packed tale read aloud to them. Full of vivid put-you-right-in-the-middle-of-the-action details and the pure thrill of adventure, it's also a story that talks about the challenges in trying to get people to respect you and see your strengths--and about how sometimes the toughest part of that goal is believing in your own ability and seeing hard things through to the end." ~ Ev Bishop, Author
Mystic Tide: While riding her horse, Talent, across the wild Irish burren, Erin is seized by an unlikely pair, a ruthless woman and her clueless but loyal brother. Erin is terrified. Only one thought gives her hope: Talent escaped their clutches. When he gallops home, her family will know she needs help and will rush to save her. But Talent has plans of his own – and the help of a very strange girl.
