Arthur's new puppy causes problems when it tears the living room apart, wets on everything, and refuses to wear a leash.
Arthur is thrilled when he gets a new puppy. He's had a lot of experience with pets so he knows they're as much work as they are fun.
Even so, when Pal tears the living room apart, wets on everything, and refuses to wear his leash, Arthur gets worried. His parents are unhappy with Pal's behavior and even D.W. seems ready to banish the boisterous puppy to the garage. What if Arthur can't control Pal-and Pal gets sent away to live on a farm?
Readers of all ages will laugh out loud as they follow Pal's progress from mischievious scamp to dog show material under the loving guidance of his owner, Arthur.

Bought this for my son. He is only four months old but he loves the pictures and is captivated when we read to him. A fun story that I'm sure he will love when he is older as well.

While children love reading fantastic stories of dragons oraliens or dinosaurs, that doesn't mean they don't also enjoy readingbooks featuring kids just like them.
Or, in the case of the popular Arthur books, aardvarks just like them. Arthur's New Puppy is the eighteenth book in the best-selling series. It follows the misadventures of the lovable aardvark as he attempts to housebreak his bouncy puppy Pal.
Children seem to identify with Arthur as he struggles with everyday problems with the help of his loving parents (and no help from his pesky little sister, D.W.) and friends.
If you have an Arthur fan in the house, or if you have a new puppy in the house, you'll want to check out this book.

We Love Arthur

Despite the characters in the Arthur story being anthropomorphic animals they are based on very real personalities rather than fantasy people.
My son who hates fantasy can recognise each character as someone he knows and the story lines are about true life experiences which most children can identify with; Arthur gets a new pair of glasses or a new bike or falls out with his friend etc...
I think these stories have one of the strongest cast of characters in all the books we have read. They all have they quirks and flaws.
They are very wholesome feel good stories and they are not afraid to call a spade a spade.
The writing is very good too. They are easily read aloud to a child.

Very American. I had to adapt some of the language when I read it to my grandchildren. They liked the story.
