Pirates pacified. Void vanquished. Peace is a fragile beast.
Felix has survived the tribulations of the Void and returned to the Continent. Civilization, at long last. Yet the city of Haarwatch has a terrible new issue.
The Inquisition has arrived to stamp out sorcery and unnatural monstrosities...and Felix still has the Primordial Maw riding shotgun in his soul. Now, he must find his friends and a way to remove a section of his very essence before everything comes crashing down.
All the while, sinister plots in Haarwatch's center promise dire, bloody consequences for anyone who catches the Inquisition’s eye.

A great advance when compared to Book 2 of this series. The story is interesting, but it spends too many pages in characters and situations that do not have any real impact and could easily be removed to make it a more dynamic read.
The progress of the story is satisfactory, and the main character is further developed, although side characters are there just for the numbers. Several times the events feel artificial in order to create a climax, instead of having the climax happening naturally.
I would say it is a story worth reading, but I did struggle to continue until the end a couple times.

Loving Felix and supporting friends character development! Glad Felix is also gaining more self-confidence. He is a Demi-god in the making!

Following the joy I felt at the novelty of the first book's isekai setup and setting and mechanics(I loves the number-crunching), and then there was slightly disappointment at how overdrawn the plot of Silence - which was somewhat mitigated by the interaction between the Maw and Felix - this 3rd book was...epically climactic. Everything happening masterfully built up the tension, and even the diversions to Vess' or Callie's perspectives didn't irk me as much as such detours normally would have. To follow the author's theme, the book is like listening to the Philharmonic Orchestra playing Carol of the Bells(the version with electric guitars) but with sections where a related but distinct piece of music is played, and such tangents served only to whet my appetite for more. There was even a bit near the end where I got goosebumps.
My only complaint is that despite an end that allows for continuation, without a title for a Book 4, I fear this will end up being like the Whee of Time...but with less, y'know...dying on the author's part.

I enjoyed Hunger more then book 2. Good action, good pacing, and great value. If you've made it this far into the series you wont be disappointed.

Hugely disappointing

The first book was absolutely amazing. The second was not as good, but still enjoyable. This 3rd book was simply terrible. I enjoyed the first 5% and the last 15%. The rest is inane drivel no zero direction. "Want to join a guy who occasionally trains and has extremely long, dense, and dull development and conversations whilst hanging about in a city?" ... yeah me neither. Not sure I'll bother with book 4, I only finished this one because book 1 was so good

What happened to Felix?! Will there be some romance next 😉 poor guy needs some less stressful activities to keep him balanced 😏 pit is great and all but human companionship is the way forward here.
Ah ha well apart from my afterthought above that have left me quite unsatisfied with that ending it was a good read, lots of detail and the time spent in the domain was productive and not extensive unlike with the void 😑 really found book 2 a let down, but this was more intense. Good job

A fab rollercoaster of a book

Loved this story as our hero fights his way through multiple challenges and seems to manage to overcome no matter the consequences.
It’s perfectly paced and well edited, only a couple of tiny glitches, and the story is really well done with a cracking wee world creates for us to enjoy.
Side characters are interesting and add to the whole rather than distract. Download and enjoy 😁

A roaring action-filled yarn & an enjoyable read.
It follows some of the usual isekai tropes (impossible battles and deeds that only the protagonist can accomplish, the pretty girl companions all falling for him), but it doesn't do it clumsily.
The only real complaint is felt like constant level up announcements for skills were used to pad sections of the book, to the detriment of the flow.

Not a bad novel and story line, well written though it feels more than a tad fast the pace of levelling for the MC’s and rather than creating a depth of world, it feels once this story line is over so too will all the characters.
