Easy to pick up. Hard to put down!

Extremely enjoyable read with great characters and a plot that carries you along nicely.

The pace is enough to keep you entertained without feeling rushed. And the story reaches its conclusion in a way that neatly ties up loose ends without being cliché.

A very nice modern fantasy story with interesting historical references throughout; made with enough editorial license to be fresh, but not so much that it's completely unbelieveable... For those willing to court Eventide that is...

An excellent piece of story telling from Matthew Ward. Like all the best myths the story is grounded in recorded history and often not how you expect things to be. I thoroughly enjoyed this and only have one complaint. When's the next one coming out?

I picked this up after reading Matthew's books set in Tressia and really enjoyed the shift to a more recognisable landscape overlaid with the extraordinary. It's also nice to see a female protagonist who feels like she might actually be a real person!

Im not sure what I was expecting but there are plenty of surprises contained within.
I wont spoil any of the plot but I had me caught from the beginning.
