Zodiac Academy 8 is a thick one (1244 Kindle Pages)! While I enjoyed reading the book, there are a LOT of characters' points of view (more than 10), not to mention some of the chapters are incredibly long! One chapter alone was almost an hour and a half long, according to my kindle reading time. Because of this, it has taken me more time to get through the book.

It is best to read Sorrow and Starlight without spoilers, but I will say it was a journey! Some parts of the storyline were predictable, while others were in true "Twisted Sisters" style, and I did not see them coming. I enjoyed the storyline and will continue to Zodiac Academy 9 when the final installment comes out. I am giving a rating of 4 / 5 Stars.

I have not started this one yet. I have to prepare myself for the heartache that is coming. I find that the sisters are very good writers and I like the stories they craft. Theirs are no the typical rom-com type books I am use to. I will eventually get into the book when I feel I am able. In the meantime I still have the 'fae' books to get to. Those are in hardcover, so summertime I will read those.

Wow ok we got so much goodness. I loved all the small jokes the sister weave throughout the book to lighten up the darker and emotional scenes. They really know how to run an emotional slaught3rhou5e 🥹

I feel like this was really setting the stage for the finale in the next book. We also finally got some good scenes between a certain two that I’ve been waiting for 🥰🥰

I’m still unsure on how the ending of this book will play out into the next. (The cliffhanger isn’t sad imo) I didn’t see it coming at all and was completely thrown off. I swear I never know what they are going to do 🙄

Loved getting back into this world, and these characters, but the story itself seemed like a little more than it needed to be. Still full of tears and laughter, but didn't quite hit the height of expectations set by the last couple of books. Definitely more slow moving (less plot advancement) than expected.
But I'm still waiting impatiently for book 9!

358 days I have waited for this book. And it was completely worth the wait. The blood, sweat, and tears that must have gone into this book is so clear and I think Caroline and Susanne have done an amazing job in progressing the story in a way that gives us everything we want and more without it seeming too unrealistic (unrealistic for a fantasy series as least).

With how ZA7 was left, I was expecting to have my heart ripped out further but there were moments of joy that keep you going and make it all worth it. I cried and laughed throughout.

*Potential spoilers below* - I will try my best not to spoil anything though.

There are so many new POV's in this book (I believe I counted 19 in total) and whilst some of them I wasn't completely into, I do think it helped the flow of the story as you could see what was happening with everyone and how it would all come together. I also really loved that you could see what was happening with the rebels and how they were trying to help.

There were moments that had me screaming in frustration (Seth and Caleb I am looking at you!) but it just helps you keep reading on as you want to know that it all works out.

I could not work out what the prophecy was at all but now that I've read this book, it's so clear. But, of course, there is now a new prophecy I cannot work out!

I also love the little nods and references to Darkmore Penitentiary and that series - they actually made me scream a little as I realised little things that I remembered from that series were coming into this series.

This cliffhanger was honestly not as bad as I was expecting. On a scale of ZA1 to ZA7, I would definitely say it's more of a ZA3 or maybe a ZA6 rather than a ZA4 or ZA7 (which in my opinion were the worst ones!)

I get that this book will not be for everyone as everyone had different ideas of what they wanted to happen and how they wanted things to go but honestly, I really really enjoyed this book and loved the direction it took.

I can understand how there was no way they would have been able to cut this down to make it the final book so the decision to split it, whilst a bit disappointing that we still have to wait for the ending to see how it all works out, is the best decision for the series as it means we get the full story that Caroline and Susanne imagine and want to tell us without having to lose anything.

I came into this world late, started binge reading the start of 2022 and finished book 7 Feb 2022. I didnt think this genre was my thing but wow I have loved it!
I have waited 9months for book 8, for a conclusion. When it was announced this wouldn't be the last book, I was cool as it meant more time in this world.
That was until I read book 8!
It just felt like 70% of it was filler and not necessary at all.

There may be some spoilers from this point on. So don't continue if you haven't read it.

POVs for some characters were pointless. Like Justin (might have the name wrong as I switched off) just floating in the clouds for a whole chapter - why???

Chapters of Seth and Caleb getting freaky but still not admitting their feelings. I like a good sex scene but it felt overloaded.

Pointless mini battles like the library and the weird s*x not s*x scene with the 3 witches and Tory. That was just- well I cant describe it but I Skipped those pages.

The thing that let me down the most though was Darius returning. Like they've spent the whole book mourning him and when he turns up- nothing. I cant understand that and it deflated me. I was so waiting for the big reunion and all the happy feels that would come with it, for it to be nothing.

Adding new villains. At this point it's not needed. They still haven't killed the villains that have been tormenting them the whole series. With Cylde I think I can already see how that story is going to go, and if I'm right I think its going to ruin all the greatness of this series.

So as much as I love this world and all of the other books the sisters have wrote, this book just didn't hit like I expected. It most definitely could have been the last if all the unnecessary filler was cut out.

Will I read book 9 - of course, but am I as excited about it as I was the others - no.

OK so I discovered this series back in August and the first 2 books were a struggle to finish but I preservered and by book 4 I was glad I did. I went from 2.5 stars up to 4. However, now I've just finished this I'm not so sure I made the right decision when I continued. I feel like this series has been dragged out for the sake of it and too much filler added in just because. I love a lot of the characters in this world but it's so disappointing that 80% of this book didn't really add much, other than probably, more words and books to the series. This should be a good thing, but at this point I wonder if there will ever be a satisfying end in sight or just a continued money grab. The 20% I feel did add to this world was fantastic and I loved the twists, turns, and feels this book gave me, but sadly it left a bitter taste. I really hope book 9 ignites my love for this series but currently I don't hold high hopes.

The twisted sisters strike again; putting fear in our hearts and trying to wrench our broken souls from our body whilst simultaneously making us laugh so hard we cry. A beautifully written absolute beast of a book that has me desperate for more already! Can absolutely see why it had to be split in to two books and am excited for the finale and hopefully that long awaited HEA.

The characters continue to grow and evolve in sometimes completely unexpected ways. Our favourite slippery salmon gets adventurous, our favourite puppy dreams about the wonders of a moon mate, Rosalie Oscura cameos as the badass she is, the Herald of Truth works his magic in the press, countless faebook posts - what’s not to love! Ok I’m making this sound like way too happy of a book so I feel I should prep you and say it is not and has its share of heartache and horror and you def need to keep the box of baileys and bottle of tequila to hand to drown your sorrows in between basking in the starlight.

The unfolding of the previous prophecies was great to watch happen over the process of the book and the realisations of what different parts could possibly have meant while still keeping the suspense until the truth is revealed. The cliffhanger is thankfully nowhere even close to being as horrifying as HS’ and overall ends on a fairly positive note.

I have but one disappointment at the end which I hope shall be fixed in book 9 (cannot come soon enough) which I won’t give spoilers but I think when you’re finished you’ll know what I mean.

This series has me in a chokehold and I’m 100% here for it. May the stars be ever in your favour ✌️

I have been waiting what feels like forever for this book and omg It didn't disappoint.
This series is a complete rollercoaster ride with your emotions and it's a ride I don't want to end. I am loving how fearless Tory is and that she isn't some perfect pure princess who weeps all the time and even though she is broken she still keeps fighting.
Darcy is definitely Torys light to her dark and this book even though takes them on different paths in the end proves there's no greater bond than sisters.

I am loving everybody stories not just the Vega twins, I am really rooting for Seth and cal to finally confess how they really feel and max and Gerry just make me laugh.

So would I recommend this series......Absolutely but if you have never read these amazing author's books you definitely need to start with dark fae as that is the first series to introduce zodiac academy and the lovable Leo and the hotness that is Darious, Gabe and Carson happy reading xxxxxx
