I consider this the coffee that switched me from getting coffee by the cup from stores to brewing at home. Full-bodied, and leaning more on the darker side, the coffee is excellent on its own or with a hint of whole milk. Of course, it tastes a bit sweeter knowing that some of your money has gone to the noble cause of conserving the Pelee Island Bird Observatory.
I did notice that the coffee is $4 cheaper on Balzac's own site, though the barrier for free shipping anywhere in Canada is through spending $50 on their site. This is neither hard to do nor is ill-advised, as they make great coffee all around.

Being from Essex County and knowing Pelee Island for what it is, this is a beautiful tribute to one of Canada's great writers. The coffee is medium bodied and has delightful sweet caramel notes. This coffee is great and the fact that it helps the bird conservatory is even greater. Pick up a few bags, and when its safe to do so, take a trip to Pelee Island, you wont regret it.

This coffee had no flavour whatsoever. I even tried putting twice the normal amount of grounds into our coffee machine but it just tasted like milky water. It was by far the worst coffee I had ever tasted which is surprising coming from Balzac's.
