OKAY so Caroline and Susanne slay me.

I loved Rocco. 100% added to my list of fake boyfriends because he is effing perfection. So damaged, dark, broken, twisted and Savage. But all it takes is recognizing his twin flame in Sloan and he's done for.

And Sloan! I 100% thought she would be some weak, scared, ill equipped spoiled brat. But- she has SO much fire in her. She wants to figure out who she can be without being guarded all the time. And even though she's been kidnapped by the Romero's, she's more free than she's ever been!

Holy crap though, was this a slow burn. The tension had me ON EDGE!!! When they finally fooled around for the first time I was off the couch celebrating right along with them!!

I loved that no only was this the whole mafia kidnapping thing, we had some additional storylines.

Also... how many TROPES can you get in a book?!?!
- kidnapped on her wedding day by a rival mafia family with an obviously hot son
- forced proximity
- Enemies to Lovers
- bully
- and then that surprise at the end.....!

Yep. Loved it so good.

This was so good a dark delicious enemies to lovers mafia romance that managed to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout. I adore these authors and once again they’ve managed to pull it out of the bag. So the Romero’s and Calabresi’s are mortal enemies and have been for as far back as Sloan Calabresi can recall. When a Violent encounter with the oldest Romero son Rocco finds Sloan still breathing she’s shocked and very thankful. Happy then to escape to Italy to complete her education and get a taste of freedom the last thing Sloan desires four years later is to return home to once again be back under her father's rigid control. Finding out he has arranged her marriage to her childhood friend Sloan realises that this is now her lot in life and that she cannot escape her fate no matter how much she rattles the bars of her golden cage.

What she didn’t expect was to be kidnapped from her own wedding ceremony and then used as leverage against her family. Now in the clutches of the Romero brothers, Sloan finds her situation a whole lot worse. Rocco Romero is a cold ruthless killer and he seems to hold her personally responsible for all of her father's many crimes against his family. Taking Sloan was a spur-of-the-moment choice one that Rocco now plans to use to his advantage his failure to act four years prior is something that he’s never lived down. Having Sloan in his clutches now he’s determined to make her pay for her family name and his prior failure.

So this is a proper enemy to lovers' romance there is nothing warm and fuzzy about Rocco and initially, when he takes Sloan he isn’t nice about it. Her treatment isn’t in any way kind and his behaviour towards his captive definitely cold and cruel and he’s totally unpredictable with his polar mood swings. He even bets his brothers he can make her fall for him something that later backfires splendidly. But Sloan is more than a match for Rocco this girl has a core of steel and just doesn’t back down ever something Rocco reluctantly admires.

But what neither imagines is the bond that starts to grow these two have matching dark ragged edges and as Rocco peels back Sloan's many layers he finds that they just seem to fit and the more Rocco uncovers in Sloan the more he finds he likes and It’s not long before he’s in as deep as she is. What started as a twisted game has spectacularly backfired as Rocco discovers that he wants to keep Sloan for real despite her family name.

The tension builds slowly here and when it eventually ignites between them this was scorching hot. The intimate scenes here were original and unique and their connection felt authentic and believable. There was the usual mafia darkness buried secrets and some twists I did guess the main one but that didn’t detract one bit from my enjoyment. This was as usual well written and I found this a totally gripping and engaging read that I’m happy to recommend.

Story wasn't bad but it was overwritten. There was a ton of extraneous information in there that really didn't add to the story and the three Brothers were more like the Keystone Cops . It took forever for the two main characters too develop any amount of chemistry. And I would have given it only two stars except the plot has sufficient twists and turns to earn three stars. Not sure I'd recommend it but having said that it wasn't horrible either. I really don't get all the four and five star reviews but I guess everyone's different

Rocco is a spirit animal from singing The Pina Colada Song at the top of his lungs, to his twisted nursery rhymes, he is one of a kind. This book comes with lots of twist and turns and an unexpected ending. This is the first book I read of Caroline and Susannes, and I will definitely be adding the rest of their books to my TBR.

After reading the twisted sisters' RH books, I knew I Loved their writing but I did not expect to love this book in the way that I do. It has tropes that I love, ranging from forced proximity to enemies to lovers. Once I'd started delving into Sloan & Rocco's story, I couldn't put it down. It has everything you can expect and love from this dynamic duo, a whole lot of angst, spicy as hell scenes, chemistry that will leave you hot and bothered, plot twists you never see coming and some dark themes. This book was brilliant, and I'll definitely be devouring the next book. Can't wait to read more of this series

This is not my usual genre however I have loved everything else these authors have written and thought I'd give it a try.

Im so glad I did! Its called Beautiful Carnage and that's exactly how I felt after reading it. It was beautifully written and the story made carnage of my emotions. I loved the world building I felt like I'd knew this world even though I've never read anything like it before. The characters were amazing. I hated Rocco with a passion and found sloan a bit irritating but by the end I was hooked and amazed by them both.
I'm so excited to see this series grow, the other characters are wrangling into my affections and I want to know more....
I'm so glad I gave this a try and may have found a new genre to explore.

This book is so different to the other works that I've read from these authors but by no means any less.
These authors have the skill to set the scene, provide the tools and sit back to watch the drama unfold. I was apprehensive at first, I'm a massive fan of the Zodiac series and the Ruthless Fae. This is more of a contemporary book, which sees the tangle of two opposing families, like a hotter steamer version of Romeo and Juliet.
This book delivered and more. There were twists all along the way, and you can't help but root for the characters, and I was really invested in the story.
I love this book is a series but can be enjoyed as a standalone, it gives you all the feels and the resolution packed with a neat bow.
I loved the story, and can't wait to read what happens to the others in future books.

I enjoyed this, but it was a bit too long for my taste and I got bored. I’m unclear on Nikolai and his feelings for Sloan, did he love her romantically or as a brother, did he see her as nothing more than payment and his right? Loved Rocco and his brothers, and I love Rocco and Sloan together. I would read the next book to find out more about Nicolai, and find out if he can reunite with his family, but at almost 500 pages, it’s too long. Over all this is a good book, but not for the cookie cutter romance-aholics who want sweet love and tenderness. This is dark and twisty, a guilty pleasure all in one.

I love these sisters as authors. I actually came across this book by chance in my KU and I surprised I didn't know about this series as I honestly seem out their book as they get released. This book relies solely on the characterisation of Rocco, Sloan and Nicoli as the plot is fairly straight forward. I felt like some of the moments were dragged out a bit too long but the overall impression of the story was great.
