I pulled out the thumb drive after a couple of days and the files were all neatly arranged in their own dated folder.
Be sure to set your sensor zones so the camera isn't activated by street traffic etc. Otherwise you could have hundreds of files recorded every day.
Once your active cloud subscription is over, the files are sent directly to the thumb drive in real time (or so it says).
So far I'm really impressed with this little gizmo. It's been solid for the last 5 days with the only problem being the camera sometimes takes a while to reset to daytime colour instead of infra-red B&W.
Although you can see and singly erase files, I find it easier to pull out the thumb drive every few days to review and then mass erase the files I no longer want.
For around 90 dollars total, I have a functional security system that works through WiFi so I can hide the sync module anywhere in case of an intrusion. What's not to like??? Highly Recommended.
first, I didnt think they should need support, altho the customer support people are good, efficiant, but you should.nt need them,, after installation, it keept losing its bluethoot connection, no fix available available
I"ve returned them,, not a great deal.

Here's how this device actually works: first you always need a blink account, so that all videos can be uploaded to the cloud. There's no way to turn it off. Then if you buy this device, you can periodically download from the cloud to have a local copy of the videos.
Think about Google selling you a standalone wifi device to back up your gmails. That's how ridiculous it is.
This is not true - I have paid for the sync mod 2 in Jan 2021 and it does not allow any access to usb files via blink APP. Out right lies/ false advertising. The Blink marketing manager that allowed this to happen should be fired.
False advertising in Nov 2020 - NO ACCESS TO LOCAL STORAGE VIA BLINK APP. Was promised this. They never intended to deliver. They were just suckering buyers with false promise of feature to come.
There is a third issue, but I didn't take a star off for it. It uses a USB Flash drive as storage. An SD card would have been much better, allowed for more storage, and taken up less space.
The device does what it is supposed to do. It was easy to set up. So, 3 stars for an adequate product.
