short and simple stories about being thankful
Reviewed in Japan on April 7, 2021Verified Purchase
I got this book for use at bedtime and the stories are quite short and perfect for hurried evenings. They stories are simple but well written and can spark conversations about thankfulness and looking to the good in our lives.

A great gift for children
Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2020Verified Purchase
“The things I’m grateful for” is a wonderful gift for children. The book contains five beautiful stories about different children who learnt the value of being grateful. Children need to learn this. Learning not to complain, not be pessimistic, unfriendly, and thankful, being in short, ungrateful for all we have and do and with what is done to us, shortens our lives. Having a good attitude lengthens life.
The several stories are about children who learnt the benefits of being grateful. About Beth who learnt to play the glad game, Jack who played the thankfulness game, and about Zoe, Even, and Kai.
The book also has 8 mazes followed by the solutions to each of them. And there is a free book. “It’s OK to be Different.”

FIVE REASONS TO GIVE THANKS
Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2021Verified Purchase
This is the first book in a series about gratitude. It features five stories that center around the theme of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The characters are likeable and relatable. Beth is a bookworm who learns from reading Pollyanna that she can help out her brother and change his attitude toward math. A poor boy named Jack learns to understand that riches don't come from material objects. Zoe teaches a classmate that being unique is not a bad thing. Evan discovers that a change in living conditions brings the promise of new rewards, and Kai finds out selfishness born out of privilege can lead to clouding our judgment of what is really important.
The stories are followed by ideas for activities that will lead the reader to a better grasp of the message contained in each of them. As a bonus, the author includes eight mazes to continue the fun.
Highly suggest this book for elementary and early middle-grade readers.
