The Burley Tail Wagon was easy to assemble and fortunately Georgie (female Malinois at 9.5 years) adapted quickly to a new routine. Degenerative myelopathy, which slowly affected her hind quarter mobility, made our daily routine extremely difficult. A doggie wheelchair assembly did not work out so well as we sought to satisfy her care issues.
Living in a condo in a busy metropolitan city while dealing with concrete sidewalks, asphalt streets, winter snow, ice and salt-covered walkways presents many challenges for owners of dogs needing to get to suitable duty fields. Georgie's hind feet would knuckle, scrape and bleed. A support harness helped but additional boots were destroyed rapidly. A means of transportation to appropriate locations was desperately researched until discovering the Burley Tail Wagon. The design of the Wagon allowed for two front castor wheels (Tail Wagon Stroller Kit) thereby allowing the owners to manage without the use of a bicycle.
Georgie was somewhat hesitant at first, but has come to love her concept of "The Car", which the owners now embrace with "Thanks Burley". The Tail Wagon and routine work with wonder . . . from inside condo, to hallway, to elevator, to lobby, to street and four blocks over to Georgie's familiar park-like location. Georgie can now be expected to live longer and healthier. When the time is right, the Tail Wagon can also be packed and taken to our favorite vacation spots for further adventures.
