My 3 year old granddaughter was a preemie and had a binky from the time she was born at 25 weeks until a week after we got this book. I knew when she met me at the door wagging her finger saying no, no, no binky Grandma! We were headed in the right direction. In 3 weeks the binky was gone! She still loves the story.
Cute book, my daughter likes it, only time will tell if it helps her get rid of the pacifier. Wouldn't buy from this seller again tho, I bought it used and the book came with a sticker price of $1.65 and I paid over $6 for it, they didn't offer any kind of refund whatsoever.
We read this book in combination with “Pacifiers Are Not Forever” and “No More Binky Duck” Nearly every night for 2 mos. first my son gave it up at nap with easy and now my 2 year 1 month old just gave his binky to a daycare baby and all has gone well! He loved these books! He loves pretending to give his binky to the baby in the book.
This book was an essential part of helping my 3 yr old give up the pacifier. We did just what the little girl does in the book and gave her pacifiers to my friend’s baby. That way she knew they didn’t just disappear. Helped things go very smoothly.
We used this book to help our 2 year old break the binky habit and it worked great. She understood the concept from the book and it made it so much easier to break the habit with her. We subbed a few of our own words for some of the pages to make it more relatable for her and she still begs us to read the book about the "baby" giving away her binky.
Love this book. In the book the big girl gives her binkies to a baby who could use them instead, so we did this too (gifted them to my friend’s newborn very cerimoniously) and then read the book with that baby’s name for that page. My daughter loved it!
I like the simplicity of the story. No elaborate made up reason to get rid of binky. My twins gravitated to the bright orange book and picked it out to read. We read this for about a week before saying goodbye to binky in our house. It really prepared them so when it came time it went so much better than I expected.
This book single-handedly helped my son transition away from his beloved bink. Yes, it was a challenge, as he was a little over two years old, but it was easy, and did a great job explaining things. So thankful for authors that create helpful tools to empower our children.
