BUT seriously!! I would not have thought this was needed... ummmm.... No instructions for how to open the battery area!!! Help!! Any suggestions? And then, How do I pair it with my Toshiba Fire TV???
Minor details for some, I guess
Okies, here's an update of tonight's lesson in patience ... I don't recommend this, b.u.t. I ended up prying apart, very carefully, the back cover at the seam by the end of the case, farthest from the thumb indentation of the cover. Then, holding the remote horizontally in one hand while holding the cover with the other hand, I carefully pulled at the cover in the direction it should be opened. I also had to "rock" it ever so slightly from side to side to loosen it enough to release the cover from its "death grip" hindering its smooth sliding to release and open the battery compartment. I should say, one of the little screws that holds the frame had come loose and of course, jumped off the table. Luckily, I grabbed it before my pooch scarfed it and luckily I had one of those little screwdrivers for glasses and was able to put it back into place.
Also, I finally found after much searching lf different finds, via Google, the instructions on the Amazon site. I followed, to the letter, let me repeat that, to the letter, the ones for my Fire TV and I can now go back to wasting my time watching all my favorite shows.
Amazon, it would be much easier if you just include, at least at the most minimum, a small piece of paper with instructions to go to your very own site for how to search for the pairing instructions you have on your site!! Oh, yeah, and a more suitable "trick" for prying the darn cover off to access the battery compartment.
Well, hope this helps anyone who might have similar problem.
As I'm writing, I'm about to try opening the back cover with one of those rough grippy rubber sheets used to open jars handed out at fairs and festivals.
Sigh and lol......
