Really happy with this book! Covers much ground and in great detail. I find it very inspiring and am in the process of trying to emulate some of the wonderful and colourful examples. Would heartily recommend this for any calligraphers who are interested in practical applications of borders, colour choices and illumination.

I like this book. It has lots of great step by step instructions which I, as a complete beginner, really like. I still think that an even more basic level would be helpful for me. If you have had some experience with calligraphy then this will be great for you. If you are really experienced then it might be too basic.

Lovely book for beginners and experienced calligraphers alike!Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2016
Beautifully illustrated, clearly written instructions and discussion of tools, inks, nibs, and a variety of "hands" (fonts), reproducible practice sheets for each hand, and suggestions/examples for using your calligraphy. What more could any calligrapher want? Next to the Speedball Handbooks, this is the best calligraphy "how-to handbook" I've ever purchased, and I am a collector of calligraphy books!

This is a great calligraphy book which not only walks you through the basics, but then later gives you ideas how to use your new skills to make personalized art and gifts. The Celtic knotwork ideas are beautiful. I'm glad I saw this and picked it up. I've been doing calligraphy since I learned it in art class in junior high school, but this has even more prompts.
