This writers style annoyed me bc I feel like she needed material an dragged this book out for no reason also chapter after chapter of each of their POV for the same event WHYYYYY?!? Killing Elijah just so Julian could have a book huge mistake IMO bc you’ve forever ruined the friendship dynamics! You could of till gotten 3 additional book you had Kate, Emma and Eric you could of still written about. I’d love to know what happens with everyone but a Google search will give me answers bc I just can’t read anything else by this writer sorry not sorry 🤷♀️
Okay, I found Charlie very hypocritical and just plain turnoff. The way she treated Julian and kept cheating on him and kept holding on to him as a safety net was just wrong. I was like, "walk away Lex" she's being a player and has double standard. How can she be jealous when she is still engage. She annoyed me. Glad she had better sense in the end but she still did a number on Julian and didn't even own it, she sucks. Although, sex scene is hot.
This is the continuation of Charlie and Lex's story. With all of the past issues , one would think that that they would have learned to communicate. This story has all kinds of angst because of how "willful" they each are. Of course there is heartbreak, humor and swoony moments. I am in love with the side characters as well. Overall the love they have for one another leaches through the pages and eventually they find their stride. As much as you want to hate Lex you can't help falling in love with him just as Charlie does.
"Here simple stare anchors my soul, and only Charlotte, my beautiful wife, can command my heart to the beating of her own." ~Lex
This book had such a great start but it got confusing, Lex was a great character in the beginning and Middle but got confusing and Charlie started wonderful but was weak all these characters were confusing I just wanted it to be over. It was like a train wreck I couldn't stop but didn't want to I was committed to seeing this book to the end, boy was I disappointed...🤔😑😐😞
This book… I was not expecting to be crying like a baby at work concerning my coworkers for my well being. Elijah’s death broke me because not only was he the most level headed he was the soothing balm of the bunch.. Besides his death the rest of the book had my blood pressure high.. These characters make me soo mad to the point I wished Alex was real so I can kick him in the balls. He has the audacity to think that the crap he put Charlie through especially with whatever her name is Mountain chick is equal to Charlie thinking that hey maybe my life would have been better with Julian WHO DOES NOT TREAT HER LIKE CRAP AND IGNORE HER!!!! I was literally in such a ragey mood at work… Now I have to go and read book 3 because like a drug addict I can’t get enough… BRB
This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. It had everything I like to read in a book. I got angry at times and then Eric would make me laugh. Good steamy scenes. At times I wanted to shake Charlotte and Alex. My favorite character was Eric because he made me laugh throughout the whole book. I look forward to reading the next book.
I liked this story better than the first. To me it was a bit more real as far as the emotions and life experiences Lex and Charli go through. Definitely more realistic as far as one may feel learning how to trust someone with your whole being. A bit redundant at the end though. I really felt like smacking some of the characters, particularly Lex, at the end. One thing I really didn't like was Lex's parents' relationship was so similar to his and Charli's and they still had the audacity to shun her just like his mother was?! 🤦♀️ all things considered, I would have assumed they would have been more understanding of the situation.
In the beginning I couldn't tell where this story was going. I guess that's the whole point of a story. It's just sometimes you have an inkling. This one kept me on my toes. I must admit at times it was frustrating with back and forth, but to really understand the main characters it was necessary. This story was a breath of fresh air. It's a love story with reality built in. Not all romances are easy peasy. There are challenges, heartbreak, joy, jealousy, sadness and humor. My heart has been on a rollercoaster. I had to walk away several times, but always came back wanting more. Definitely worth the read.
I honestly didn’t enjoy this book. Maybe you will maybe you won’t but I got tired of Charlie mostly. I like some good conflict don’t get me wrong but I also like the characters to have a little back bone and I just wasn’t getting that at all. I also predicted the shock factor so there wasn’t really anything to keep me invested especially because Lex and Charlie were so finicky in their relationship. It was lacking the passion, animosity, friendship, romance, and conflict I was hoping to find however I do believe that others may find it enjoyable, it just wasn’t for me.
This second book got me in its grip and did not let go u til the final page. I have to say that the author has a way of pulling you into the story and all you can do is hold on and make sure you won’t fall off during the ride. Both this book and the first one had lots of typos but I could ignore them since I got the gist of what the author was trying to say. I’m taking a break before I move on to the third book, not quite sure I want to know more about other characters.
