Books By Chris Philbrook
"A kick-ass protagonist. Bad-ass zombies. A cool-ass thrill ride. Adrian's Undead Diary is easily one of the best zombie tales out there. Chris Philbrook is on my keeper shelf." Rachel Aukes, best selling author of 100 Days in Deadland.
"A realistic account of the zombie apocalypse that sucks you right in. A great series!" T.W. Piperbrook, author of the Contamination series.
Beheading a zombie isn't easy in a world where you're more afraid of the living than the dead.
Adrian Ring's simple life is thrown into chaos when the world is ripped apart by a plague of undead and scores of desperate survivors. Retreating to Auburn Lake Preparatory Academy, Adrian attempts to rescue friends and family on the way while dancing around his impending insanity over who and what he left behind, and evading maniac survivors.
He saves his cat Otis, but shoots his mom.
Pretty successful, all things considered.
Dark Recollections is the first part of Adrian's own horror story of how he survived after the zombie apocalypse of "That Day." Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named "Mr. Journal," and through short stories that entwine with his tales that bring forth dark visions of a world being eaten alive by an unimaginable evil. Adrian's Undead Diary is an eight part epic about a solitary, guilt stricken man that didn't think he deserved to live, but realizes very soon that he survived, and suffered for a reason.
It's a great read for anyone. The stories are well written, characters build carefully and every detail is covered. People, this is what a great book looks like! Stop reading this review and start reading the book! -Frank D of zombie-guide.com
I don't even think one needs to be a fan of zombie fiction to end up a fan of AUD; because Chris's talent can't be pigeonholed into one limited, literary genre. His true talent lies in weaving an enduring, sweeping story that does exactly what it's supposed to do... pulls you in, engrosses you, evokes emotion, and leaves you satisfied (if not a little bit sad) when it's over. In the case of AUD, for me, the zombies are just a bonus! -Wendi Haegle

Dark Recollections is the first book in the AUD series. It covers Adrian's journal entries from September 21st 2010, to December 1st, 2010. Intermingled with his personal diary entries, book one also contains the short stories Phil's Story, McGreevy's Report, and Soccer Mom. It is now in its second edition, complete with a new author's foreword, an excerpt of Tesser: A Dragon Among Us, and with some grammatical fixes.
Adrian Ring and his inner circle of survivors heads south through the German ruins after the Navy frigate he and his friends sailed on is eaten alive inside out by an infestation of the dead. Wracked with grief over the death of his brother, they make their way through the winter snow until they are bogged down, eventually taking up residence in a secluded farm.
But not far away there's a enclave of survivors, and while everything seems fine on the surface... they might have ulterior motives for their alliance. They might want to stop Adrian, or they might want to ferret out the demon hiding in his midst.
Either way, this apocalyptic adventure will see evil unleashed in a way never seen before.
The Lost & the Found contains Adrian's journal entries from January 4th, 2015 through March 2nd, 2015. It also contains the short stories Meow, Bitch, as well as Tactical Septic Tank, The Peacemaker, Vulnerable, and Only Bad Choices.
Book Five: Wrath
Good and evil play their game to determine whether humanity gets a second chance, and their pawns are the living and the dead.
Book Six: In the Arms of Family
Adrian Ring and evil don't get along. When he can't be corrupted, turned, or forced to give up, evil targets those around him, including the family he had thought was dead.
Book Seven: The Trinity
A full year of blood and tears has passed for Adrian Ring. As the dead remain hateful, the living are more desperate than ever: winter approaches and supplies are dwindling. Meanwhile, the conflict with the monsters at the Factory is reaching a boiling point.
Book Eight: Cassie
One last test.
One last quest.
Adrian and the men and women who love him head deep into the city in search of the one thing that may save Adrian's soul, and the entire world.
"Well-rounded and intriguing story arcs, three dimensional characters, and the perfect blend of humor and horror create the exquisite amalgam that is Adrian's Undead Diary. Philbrook earns his place in The Bookie Monster's hall of fame best reads." SHANA FESTA, THE BOOKIE MONSTER & AUTHOR OF TIME OF DEATH
"A realistic account of the zombie apocalypse that sucks you right in. A great series!" T.W. Piperbrook, author of the Contamination series.
"Walking Dead < Adrian's Undead Diary. The End." J.C. Fiske, author of The Renegade Series
Adrian's Undead Diary series is a must have for your zompoc collection. The only time I only put it down was when the battery on my Kindle died. Adrian is the kind of hero I want on my zompoc team. Ben S Reeder, author of The Zompoc Survivor Series
Diggory Finch had a mother that didn’t seem to want him, and a father that chose to run from every struggle the family ever had. Same father lied about the family fortune.
But now Grandma Beatrice is gone, and Diggory has inherited Finch Island in Twin Falls, as well as millions of dollars, a house, an old mill building, and the profound, evil darkness that dwells at the center of his family’s heart.
Diggory returns home, happy and comfortable for the first time in a home that’s not going anywhere, and starts the process of opening up a game store on his family’s property. He even meets a young lady that makes him want to stop sabotaging his relationships. Could it be love?
Or will the horror that unfolds undo all he’s ever wanted?
The Finch family is surrounded by people who want something from them. They want the dark power that Diggory has access to. They want the doorway only he can open to remain open forever, and if they have to lock him up so the ancient evil he can access can always flow to them, then so be it.
But for the first time, this Finch isn’t running, and isn’t content to be used to unleash evil on the world.
Can Diggory harness the great darkness within him, and defeat the monsters that feast on the people of Twin Falls, or will he lose control, and put the entire world at risk?
Twin Falls; a modern day Lovecraftian universe of ancient, eldritch evils, manipulative sects, and a wise-cracking young man that's just sick of being used, abused, and more than a little self-destructive. It's on like Donkey Kong.
Tesser the dragon of life itself, is one seven; Earth’s primordial draconic guardians, destined to oversee its development, and safety. Species rose, and fell, and one day, ten thousand years ago… Tesser disappeared. The golden dragon woke up this morning, buried deep beneath the city of Boston, with no idea how he got there, and no idea how humanity grew so fast, and learned so much while he was away. He is lost; a fish out of water, with no contact with his brothers and sister, or any idea of what threatens his home.
Where are the faeries? Where are the Minotaur, and unicorns? Where are the selkies and all the creatures he fostered, and loved? Where is the magic?
He’s got a lot of catching up to do if he’s going to find his missing sister Kaula, and stop an incursion of daemons from beyond the Veil. Learning English from watching Kevin Smith movies at a coffee shop is probably not his best first step, but not all heroes get handed a cape.
Welcome to The Reemergence.
"Vibrant storytelling, with an unusual protagonist..." -Georgina Parfitt, Towerbabel.com
Book Two: Ambryn & the Cheaters of Death
Book Three: Fyelrath & the Coven’s Curse
Book Four: Tesser: A Father Enraged
Book Five: Zeud & the Prophets of Atomic Fire
Now, as he and his precious friends foray north into the heart of England to find Hal Parker’s dad, and search for survivors, they will encounter threats they’ve never dealt with before.
And worse yet, while they battle against faster, and smarter armies of the dead, and the wraiths of evil that now walk amongst them, a greater threat slips through the cracks, and joins them.
There will be death. There will be destruction. The darkness will shun out hope as it nears a final victory.
And yet Adrian will meet a new light, Erin Locke—a beacon in the darkness—and his encounter with her will change him for the better, and alter the course of humanity’s grim fate.
With major contributions from Carl Meadows, author of Lockey vs, The Apocalypse, an Adrian’s Undead Diary series.
Ghosts contains Adrian’s personal journal entries from November 28th, 2014 to January 1st, 2015. Intermixed with those diary entries are the short stories: A Mother’s Love, Be Someone Special, Bring Me That Horizon, Sabotage, The Paladin, and Now You See Me.
Heavy stuff.
But now, in the peaceful wake of a near-apocalypse, he finds himself falling in love with Alisha, starting up a gaming store in the family warehouse, and dealing with the Machiavellian eldritch manipulations of the twelve founding families of Twin Falls: all of whom want something from him, and the power his family somehow controls.
And if that wasn't enough, Diggory and the cults of his hometown have no idea that when he sent those abominations away, he totally tore a hole in the barrier that keeps the really bad things out, and one of them slipped into town.
And that thing really, really wants to give Diggory a kiss.
Welcome to The Twelve: book two of The Darkness of Diggory Finch, a Lovecraftian eldritch horror series set in New England, filled with inappropriate humor, more gore than your average story, and more than a few moments that will leave you uncomfortable.
That's what The Tales from the World of Adrian's Undead Diary is all about; more stories from his world. More triumph and tragedy in a world overrun by a zombie plague. Happy stories, sad stories, scary stories, gory stories, really weird stories and more.
We have zombies stuck in swings, dogs protecting their families, truck drivers surviving the end of the world, a porn store that's repurposed into an armory, terror on a flight at 30,000 feet and the capers of idiot criminals trying to take advantage of undead wandering the streets and devouring the flesh of the populace.
Contained within this Kindle-only omnibus are the first six releases in the Tales series: Unhappy Endings, London Burns, Only the Light We Make, The Shed, An Ill Wind, The Other Side, and Dead Lucky.
There are 43 short stories and four novellas in this collection, with stories by Jeremy Flagg, J.C. Fiske, Carl Meadows, Brian Parker, Jay Wilburn, James Dean, Shannon Clare, C.A. Hoaks, James Pyne, Christopher T. MacDonald, Phillip Tomasso, Joe Tremblay, Adam Carpenter, and Rich Restucci, as well as a large excerpt from Carl Meadow's No More Heroes, from his AUD canon trilogy Lockey vs the Apocalypse.
So please join us in this collection, and flesh out the core Adrian's Undead Diary universe in a delightful fashion.
Clinging to what’s left of his tattered soul, he must assemble a small team to bring across the Atlantic aboard one of the few still-operational US Navy frigates. There, he is reunited with his lost brother William.
The battle ahead is ominous enough, but the journey might kill him before he sets foot on European soil. He must battle the wills of those who will be left behind at Bastion, The Factory, Spring Meadows and MGR, plus ensure a proper transition of power.
He must wage a war of wills against a rag-tag Navy crew who sees him as a self-proclaimed savior, and against a captain who is at odd with his risk-taking, bold nature.
The zombies might be the least of his problems.
No God contains Adrian’s Journal entries from July 4th, 2014 through Sept. 3rd, 2014. It also contains the side fictions; A Man of God, The Cleaving, I Can See Clearly Now, and The A Game.
Bastion grows day after day as pilgrims come to put down roots near the vaunted Trinity. Crops are growing, babies are being born, supplies are being salvaged, restful dreams are being had, and there's even talk that the government is surfacing to reform.
All his problems should be getting better now, right?
But some battles start after the last shot is fired.
They call themselves The Northern Valley Cooperative.
Adrian's known about them for years. Always on his fringe, never in his face, they built a fortress out of a ski resort, and brought everyone near them to heel. And now, with winter bearing down on Adrian's world, the NVC is marching south.
Are they friends, or are they foes?
Either way, Adrian's got a loaded gun on his hip, and he's surrounded by people he'd die for.
He just might.
The Dealer of Hope contains Adrian's Journal entries from September 21st, 2013 through November 30th, 2013. It also contains the side fictions Desperation, Junkyard Dogs, Strange Bedfellows, No One's Home, A City Laid Asunder, and One Last Hurrah.
