5.0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal take on a fascinating woman!

I knew absolutely nothing about Virginia Hall. Never heard of her; never knew she existed. I am so glad I came across this entertaining, personal, and witty telling of her story. HD has done a phenomenal job of taking this figure from history making her feel like a contemporary peer. Virginia (or Dindy, as she is lovingly referred to in the book) feels like someone living and breathing today—not pulled from several decades ago.

My only criticism of the book is that it’s going to encourage a lot students to give sass back to their teachers. When their poor teachers tell them, “You need to learn to write more proper—you can’t right a biographical sketch in such a casual manner,” they will be able to say, “Well, the author of this book did it. And it was GREAT!” Kudos to you, HD. Quite a beautiful accomplishment—a fabulous telling, a fabulous story, and a phenomenal woman!

Enthusiastically recommended.
