I had to do some research to find out if I was being tricked into paying extra for the professional Colgate and they’re listed as providing all the same protections (sensitivity, whitening, etc etc) AND they’re the same amount of toothpaste. I was irritated that I had paid almost double for the professional price and was about to cancel my subscription when I remembered I had bought it for much less before.
The professional ingredients include arginine which is an awesome antioxidant and whitener that is healthy, not caustic to teeth. It also had two kinds of zinc in it, again I couldn’t find evidence of zinc in the cheaper toothpaste.
I did double check all of these things after using a tube of the cheaper stuff (I ran out of the professional stuff) and I noticed my teeth didn’t feel as clean. I also have to use more toothpaste with the cheap stuff. There is a difference.
As far as taste: it’s minty. It’s not chalky but it’s not a gel, it’s toothpaste. That’s fine with me but it seems to bug a lot of people. If that’s a problem for you definitely get a different one that labels itself as a gel
