The reviews I saw on this that rated it poorly were simply disappointed that they couldn't use one tool to do the entire job, or weren't familiar with how to use this effectively.

The reality is, even if you go to a hairdresser, they're using a separate set of clippers to do around the ears and the neck line at the back of your head, so you should expect to have to do so as well. The kit includes this second set of clippers for this purpose. Everything works great, is super easy to use, and I was able to do my own hair in under 15 minutes.

I’ve had my unit for a year and a half now, and it’s been good, but it stopped charging for some reason. I have an old clipper from braun that’s over 10 years old and i had to bust that out and it still runs and charges fine... so while everything is good while it works, quality control is probably an issue with this product. Threw it out as of today, I wouldn’t really recommend it for something that lasts this short.

I like the Even Cut Lithium for its ease of use and strong, long-lasting lithium battery. However, the product isn't particularly well made. The first one that arrived started making a lot of noise and had very bad vibration after only a few uses. If I gripped the blade housing and squeezed, the noise and vibration stopped and the blade sped up. So I sent it back to Conair under warranty. It took a bit of time but they sent me a replacement.
Now after a few months of use, the replacement has started doing the exact same thing.
I think I'll switch back to a traditional clipper.

The clipper is easy to set to the preferred length. I had a bit of a challenge getting far enough down the back of my head. (Needed a free standing mirror ... I had left an interesting strip of hair several inches long in stark contrast to the 1/4 inch cut everywhere else. Check or have someone else available before thinking you are done. One problem was that the oils that is packed with the comb, length guide etc. Was leaking so everything was oily until I cleaned the parts. Would be a good idea in the future to tell purchasers what the replacement oil is called.)

I dunno why people keep saying it needs to be plugged in all the time and battery doesn’t last. I shaved my head 5 times with the same charge and could probably have done a 6 shave. I took the plastic thing off (for the length of hair) so I get a buzz cut. Dunno it it changed anything. Yes it is hard to do around the ears but the lil clipper they give you which is high quality is the same length of hair as the round clipped without anything on it. So I just use the smaller one to do around the ears quickly and take a max of 3 minutes to do the rest of my head.
This thing is a game changer. I love it!!!

Ne va pas sous la douche et jetais sur du contraire. La forme ronde du rasoir fais que les lames me piquent le cuir et me coupe sur les coins de la tête. Il est impossible de faire une coupe complete unoquement avec ce rasoir car il ne s'approche pas des oreilles. Grosse déception.vraiment déçu.

So I just had this for a 2 days and I used it once which effectively makes me an EXPERT. Let me be clear, this does what it’s supposed to do but there are several prerequisites for the results to actually be what you need them to be.
1- Batteries: the damn finishing trimmer is battery operated ( not chargeable like it’s big brother in the box) and while the actual big trimmer comes pre-charged, someone forgot to include or even mention the need for batteries for the smaller finishing trimmer! So unless to be going through Costco looking for batteries with an unfinished shaved head I suggest you put them in your Amazon cart now.
2- An understanding Partner: A very very understanding partner is essential as you will need to explain to them why the hell you are using this thing while they can definitely do a better job with a comb and paper scissors. Plus you will anyway need them to help you finish the job eventually.
3- A perfectly rounded skull: this is a physics issue. The head of the trimmer is very large and for an even cut it will need to follow all the bumps and dents in your head. If you don't have a watermelon smooth skull don’t expect an even cut.
4- Prior experience as a baldy: this will help lower the your anxiety level (and expectations) because you know.. anything can happen!
