Not all it's cracked up to be ...
Reviewed in Canada on December 16, 2018
We have a small backyard coop for eight hens (4ft x 6ft). The first few nights of December the temperature dipped below -5C (23F). We bought the heater to keep the coop just above 0C (32F) so the hen's water wouldn't freeze, but nope ... the water inside coop froze solid. The heater works - it's warm to the touch - but apparently not warm enough. Conclusion - the coop heater failed to raise the inside temp of coop by even 5 degrees C. Maybe our little coop here in Atlantic Canada is just too big for one heater? Maybe I need two or three? ... But if that's case, then there are better options.
