Product description

Crystal Clear Bar Table Top Epoxy Resin Coating For Wood Tabletop - 1 Gallon Kit UV Stable Crystal Clear Table Top System is a high performance two part epoxy resin Ultra Clear epoxy system designed for Table Tops, Bars, Wood finishes, See-Through Encapsulations, clear epoxy resin for crafts, Art work, and other applications requiring a clear, strong, plastic coating specifically designed to resist Yellowing caused by the sun and other Ultra Violet light sources. This two part epoxy resin material has an easy to use 1 to 1 by volume mix ratio, wets out substrates well, maintains its integrity over sharp corners, it has excellent air release qualities and a relatively fast set time for an epoxy coating which may be accelerated by mild heat to 160F. Makes a great two part epoxy wood glue. While this material will do much better than competitors products for non-yellowing we still do not recommend it for permanent outdoor applications. This kit includes 1/2 gallon of A Side and 1/2 Gallon B Side Totaling 1 Gallon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy!
By Michelle Beaudry on February 27, 2021
I have never used, or worked with epoxy. I decided to give this a shot after doing a lot of research, and watching videos on how to apply epoxy (I was looking to refinish my bathroom vanity). When choosing the epoxy, I read alot of the reviews. I settled on this one, and I am glad I did! It turned out beautiful- and I would like to describe my process to give guidance to others.
1- The below supplies are what I obtained for the epoxy countertop- ALL of which I got at the dollar store!
- latex gloves
- 1 cup plastic measuring cup (x2)
- 2L food storage container (the ones for watermelon slices with the lid, but didn't use the lid)
- 2" paint brush
- 9'x12' plastic drop sheet (x2)
- sandpaper(100grit)
- masking tape
- paint mixing stick
After sanding, cleaning the countertop and repainting it (regular white paint) and letting it completely dry overnight- I taped my plastic drop sheet first to the floor, up the side of the vanity, and then took the other drop sheet, and taped it under the counter and let it drape to the floor over the other drop sheet. Make sure you have ALL your supplies on hand before starting, including paper towels. Here comes the mixing of the epoxy (make sure you wear gloves!). To start, the instructions on the bottles are NOT ideal. They give pictures with a couple words. Thank goodness I watched many many videos about the mixing process first! I carefully measured out 2 cups of Part A (it is thick, like molasses) and poured it in the 2L plastic container, I used a wooden paint stick to scrap out the bottom of the measuring cup to ensure I got all of it. I then measured out 2 cups of the Part B (it is runny, like paint) and poured it in the 2L container with Part A. I mixed- by hand- using the wooden paint stick and I timed myself. I thoroughly mixed for 6 minutes, scraping the sides of the container and making sure it was completely and fully mixed together. It started as a milky mixture, but as I stirred it became clear. PLEASE- take your time! This is the important step, mix and mix and mix for at least 5 minutes. I then used the paintbrush to paint on a base coat, like I would if I were painting it. Get the edges and all around. Then I gently poured the remaining mix all over the surface, and brushed it to spread out evenly. The mix actually self levels very well, but you should still move extra around. I did not use all the liquid in my container, all in all it should only be about 1/4" thick, like a thick coating on the surface. I then used my hairdryer to pop the air bubbles that formed (kept hairdryer about 3" from surface). I scraped the excess that dripped over the edges. I ran the bathroom fan, and let the drying begin (the smell is not too potent, but it smells like wet towels left out for a few days- dingy). The next morning it was dry to the touch. I was super happy, BUT the container does say to let it dry for 72 hours- so I did. Afterwards I installed the backsplash, sink and faucets. It is smooth to the touch, even except for 1 tiny little spot when there was an air bubble that popped afterwards and made a minute divet (behind the sink) but just goes to show- do not rush the process. I also found a tiny little hair that must have fallen in, but only noticeable if you are up close to it. Needless to say- the things I am most unhappy with are my error- not the product. It is tough as sh%t too, as I had to drill the faucet hole a little larger, and some spilled over the existing hole and it took a while to drill through the epoxy layer!
All in all, I am very very happy. It was very easy to use, and if you mix the portions equally and thoroughly, you should have no issues.

Works well but follow the instructions to the T. It does not flow as they state at all. Is very clear and gives great depth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
By Amazon Customer on August 23, 2020
Is easy to use 1 to 1. Just make sure you mix it for at least three minutes. And use a torch to get the tiny air bubbles out. Like i said very easy to use. Will definitely buy this product again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't panic over instructions
Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2017
I used this epoxy to cover an 11sq.ft. table filled with approx. 1300 bottle caps. I thoroughly read all instructions, and mixed what I thought was the right amount of product for a seal coat. Turns out I was completely wrong, and once I starting pouring and realized I didn't have enough, I panicked and started eyeballing multiple other batches and mixing rather vigorously and probably not for long enough. I thought for sure I ruined my project. Well, after my horrendous attempt at following the directions meticulously, turns out that my project cured as hard as a rock within the 10 hrs.
Next mistake i made: I only bought one of these kits when I needed 2 to completely cover all the bottle caps. I quickly ordered another kit and It was at my door in 2 days (clearly outside of the 10 hour re-coating window). Because at this point I am just throwing caution to wind, I mix both jugs together in their entirety (for like 20 min though) and did one enormous coat. I did not sand or prep the table in any way between the first batch and the second batch 2 days later.
Well, my project turned out perfectly smooth, crystal clear, rock hard, with very very few bubbles that no one would ever notice unless they were staring at my table with their face less and 6 inches away from it looking for specifically for flaws. I don't anticipate my guests doing this.
I am thrilled with the results, and I don't want all these reviews about "following the directions to a T" scare any beginner epoxiers away.

Note: I am NOT recommending you proceed with this product in the same manner I did. Definitely try to follow the directions. I just wanted to provide some insight on my experience that was apparently drastically different than some other reviewers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ruined my project
Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2018
Ordered from them many times but after I received a bad batch company refused to replace product despite having filmed and documented the entire mixing process. Pro Marine removed me from their Facebook page when other users were coming forward with similar issue. I cannot afford to chance bad product on my work with a company that cannot back up their product. Will not be purchasing from them again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this stuff!
Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2017
We've been using this epoxy resin to finish an outdoor coffee table and and a bathroom countertop. It takes a little bit to get the techniques down, but the results are amazing. I think it is the cheapest, easiest way to update countertops. We are going to do our biggest project next and do our kitchen counters. We purchased the 2-gallon kit for that. We used Stone Coat Countertops to learn how to do the counters. This epoxy is easy to mix and has a relatively long working time. Definitely do your homework before you start your project, because once you start, you're committed to the process. I would suggest doing some smaller projects, like a coffee table before working on a big, permanent project.

5.0 out of 5 stars This stuff worked amazing on my very first try
Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2016
This stuff worked amazing on my very first try. I made a large resin table with embedded license plates and it came out spectacular. READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU START AS PAINFUL AS THAT MAY BE. THEY REALLY HELPED ME. A couple tips:

1) My project required 4 gallons of product. (3ft by 3ft, 1/2 inch deep - with plates) I accomplished this in (2) pours, each 4 hours apart
2) I mixed 2 gallons for 7 minutes each time and it came out awesome - don't scrape your mixing sticks when you get to the pouring part because you only want thoroughly mixed product to be poured - not remnants of either part alone that you may get if you scrape
3) POUR PART B IN YOUR MIXING BUCKET BEFORE PART A - MIXING WILL BE SO MUCH EASIER
