Retreating to Auburn Lake Preparatory Academy, Adrian attempts to rescue friends and family on the way while dancing around his impending insanity over who and what he left behind, and evading maniac survivors. He saves his cat Otis, but shoots his mom. Pretty successful, all things considered. Of course, his sanity takes a hit as a result. Real, flawed, and raw, Dark Recollections is the first part of Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day." Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named 'Mr. Journal," and through short stories that entwine with his tales that bring forth dark visions of a world being eaten alive by an unimaginable evil. Adrian's Undead Diary is an eight part epic about a solitary, guilt stricken man that didn't think he deserved to live, but realizes very soon that he survived, and suffered for a reason. Dark Recollections is the first book in the AUD series. It covers Adrian's journal entries from September 21st 2010, to December 1st, 2010. Intermingled with his personal diary entries, book one also contains the short stories Phil's Story, McGreevy's Report, and Soccer Mom. The second edition of the book contains slight revisions to the table of contents, a new foreword by the author, and some editorial revisions.

Chris Philbrook is the creator and author of the urban fantasy series The Reemergence, the dark fantasy series The Kinless Trilogy, sci-fi Colony Lost, the cosmic horror series The Darkness of Diggory Finch, and the post apocalyptic epic Adrian's Undead Diary. He also writes young adult science fiction under the pen name W.J. Orion.

Chris' first book in print was The Wrath of the Orphans, the initial book of The Kinless Trilogy set in his grim, post-apocalyptic fantasy world of Elmoryn.

Adrian's Undead Diary has thirteen titles available in print, eBook and audio, with two or three more planned.

Tesser: A Dragon Among Us is Chris' first foray into the world of urban/contemporary fantasy. There are five books released in the series.

The Darkness of Diggory Finch is a snarky take on Lovecraftian horror set in quaint, corrupted New England. TDoDF is set for five books, and two are out as of this writing.

Colony Lost has a single full-length release as of right now, plus a sequel eBook called Colony of Lies. Three eBook sequels are planned, which will be collated into a full-length print, audio, and eBook release when completed.

Chris is the owner of Tier One Games LLC, his game development company. He and his creative partner Jason DeBit are working on a 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting titled RockJockeys. He also co-owns Latchkey Comics with artist Jason Casey. He prefers to collaborate artistically with people named Jason.

Chris calls the wonderful state of New Hampshire his home. He is an avid reader, writer, role player, miniatures game player, video game player, painter and procrastinator. He and his wife share their home with two perfect daughters.

Full disclosure, I'm not the usual Zombie genre fan. I really love characters and this book has a great narrator, lead character. The diary structure of the book makes each entry a bit of a cliffhanger and you never know if the next entry will be good news or bad news. I liked the internal struggle the lead character goes through as he fights with himself to be a better guy while surviving the end of the world. This is a series so you will not get the big picture of the story unless you read all 8 books.

We've all read and watched shows about zombies but really, how would you react. I think Adrian Ring's reaction is pretty realistic, first you have to get your head around the fact that it's really happening. Next, you would want to get supplies, check on family and friends and of course find a safe place to hide out and go through your options. Adrian does all of it and along with his cat Otis, he is just trying to survive and live another day. If you love the zombie/horror genre with some humourous moments because sometimes you just have to laugh, this is the book for you.
