Also this tea is too expensive, considering I bought a bigger box of better taste at a local store for less.
The quality is not great and the flavor is variable and I do believe some of them are tea bags containing other types of tea. When this happens I dump my cup and try another bag. Not sure how fresh it is either- that actually may be the problem. However, other tea companies have discontinued their Kukicha products and I feel this is the best value out there for Kukicha.
I previously tried spearmint tea leaves from a number of suppliers, many that were much more expensive. None were better than Davidson's!
I will definitely be buying these again.

After purchasing this, I was cleaning my pantry and found a box of this same tea and brand that I purchased in 2013. I then remembered why I never drank it again.
To avoid wasting money again, I combine it with my ginger lemon tea. This overpowers the taste and smell.
Hopefully, I'm getting the lowering blood pressure benefits. My BP is occasionally a little over 145 systolic.
I'll check if this keeps it under 145 after a few weeks and add update.
I'm updating my rating to 5 stars, regardless of the taste and smell. I still drink this with other teas, so taste and smell no longer bothers me.
I updated due to the unexpected benefit I'm receiving.
This tea makes me sleep like a baby. I am a chronic insomniac and medications, etc have not been able to help me, mostly due to the side effects. I drink 3-4 cups of this daily and have to fight to stay awake.
Guess I'll have to restrict drinking this to before bedtime only.
I still don't know about the BP benefits. But I am extremely happy with being able to sleep and waking up refreshed.
Tip- if you are drinking this for medicinal purposes, make sure you are using boiling, or near boiling water to activate these properties. I wasn't seeing an improvement in my "situation" and then I was informed that I needed to use hotter water.
