Eight months ago, Jonathan, an impoverished village scribe taught by the Pharisees, committed a grievous sin. God hounds him to atone. His wife miscarries. Demons possess his child. Jonathan spirals into despair.
Blackmailed into spying—first on John the Baptizer, then on Yeshua, the itinerant preacher and exorcist—Jonathan reluctantly leaves his home in Jericho.
Dutifully, he records the puzzling happenings that occur around both men. In the dark abyss of a crisis of faith, his jealousy prompts him to ask, “Why does God work through these men and not through me?”
Moving between Jerusalem, the Jordan, Jericho, and the Galilee, this saga asks the niggling question: “Just how far will a man go to protect his honor? Will he put everyone and everything—even his marriage and his relationship with God—in jeopardy?”
Finally, felines have unearthed their ancient myths and history. The Gift of Nine Lives offers all cat lovers the story of Bastet-Net—the Great God of Cats—and her most perfect creation: felines.
This fantasy begins with the myth of the creation of Mosi—the first feline. For eons of time, her descendants ruled all creatures great and small. Then, forgetting the commands of Bastet-Net, cats grew fat and lazy: slumbering often; hunting never. The result? Revolution.
Did felines learn from their mistakes? Did they willingly live in companionable peace? Or did they plot their own revenge? This fantasy invites you to discover the astonishing aftermath to the saga of the ongoing struggle for domination between cats and dogs.
A Cat’s Legacy: Dulcy’s Companion Book is Book #2 in a series about Dulcy, the beloved feline companion of Dee Ready. After Dulcy died, she gave her human a book entitled A Cat’s Life: Dulcy’s Story, which is Book #1 of the series.
However, while sharing Book #1, Dulcy also shared additional stories about twelve habits, which she had perfected while living with her human. When followed, these habits assure bliss in any relationship. In A Cat’s Legacy: Dulcy’s Companion Book, Dulcy, who found bliss with a human, and Dee, that lucky human, offer readers—be they cats or their human companions—stories that illustrate the power of these twelve habits.
Dulcy illustrates these habits in story form to help kits and cats apply each to their lives. In an accompanying story, Dee explains how the habit influenced her own life and her relationships.
Some of Dulcy’s stories as well as Dee’s are amusing; others, sad or poignant. All of them, however, will speak to cat lovers, who delight in the foibles of their felines.
In the series, A Cat’s Life is Book #1. Its companion—A Cat’s Legacy—is Book #2. This second book is a revised edition of Dee Ready’s original title “Twelve Habits of Highly Successful Cats and Their Humans.”
In this lyrical convent memoir, readers journey with this naïve nun who is both emotionally and spiritually immature. She soon begins to consider her own will as more important than the vow of obedience she has taken.
At the same time, she continues to hold fast to her desire to pray, hoping that prayer will help quell the emotional turmoil that comes as she begins to question her own intentions. Ready’s then romantic view of what a nun should be, coupled with her inability to ask for help, become the catalyst for her leaving the convent.
In her brief Epilogue, this ex-nun expresses her gratitude for all she learned in the convent about communal life. She readily admits that those eight-and-a-half years of her twenties became foundational for who she is today.
“Prayer Wasn’t Enough” will appeal not only to those memoir readers who are curious about what young women may discover about themselves when they enter a convent, but also to anyone who’s ever struggled for perfection and fallen short; to those who passionately embrace a committed life—be it marriage, career, social justice, or the convent; and to those among us whose dreams for the future have been shaken or derailed.
A Cat’s Life: Dulcy’s Story is the powerful and perceptive story of the life of a beloved cat—told from the cat’s point of view. During their years together, Dulcy and her human learn to communicate on a level deeper than language and to comfort one another with affectionate routines that deepen their bond until they become one in their love. Their song of acceptance and bravery will pierce the heart of anyone who has ever felt close to an animal.
The 25th Anniversary Edition of A Cat’s Life: Dulcy’s Story contains not only the original story, as given by Dulcy to her human, but also a Reflection by her human—Dee Ready.
In the Reflection, Dee explains the wondrous way Dulcy gave her the book and the long and arduous path to its publication. A Cat’s Life is Book #1 in the Dulcy Series. Book #2, written both by Dulcy and her human, is entitled A Cat’s Legacy: Dulcy’s Companion Book.
