The Twilight Ocean holds unfathomable treasures, but you need strength to seize them.
Just after arriving in Twilight Harbor, Zac finds himself enlisted by the Draugr Catheya to participate in a once-in-a-millennium trial. The rewards are exactly what he needs to advance his cultivation.
But danger goes hand in hand with opportunity. Zac will be pitted against not only the local elites, but talents of B-grade factions. Furthermore, the Twilight Ascent is not what it seems.
Fate is gathering. Ancient forces are sharpening their swords, their eyes trained at the chance for ascension.

So far this is one of the only litrpg series that I still enjoy after a few books. His style has been consistent, his characters and world have a solid internal consistency and the universe he has created continues to expand naturally. I get the same feeling reading his novels as when I first got into rpg video games, exploring new areas, wondering whats coming up next.

I am truly going to crucify you for leaving another cliffhanger! This is the best read and I am so excited for the next book! I am very frustrated with the way the ending is done! Love it! Recommended reading for everyone! You won't regret it! Keep up with the great work! Thank you! I can't wait for the next book!

This series continues to move forwards in a upwards direction. Real character building and plot movement 5/5 would recommend this journey

Technically the writing is fine. Few typos or other errors
The concept remains intriguing and the settings interesting
Characters are some what one dimensional and lack common-sense/intelligence.
Main challenge for me is the chapter after chapter about finding his Dao. I’d hazard a guess that it is 10-15% of the narrative. Not particularly interesting to me and significantly impacts my rating.

Generally a great continuation of the series, just a few issues.
1. Splitting POVs. Please no. It's one thing to get those visions of the past that add to the lore. But Ogras, and other's viewpoints? Just no. We don't need it. It's boring, stick to the MC. Every author that tries this crap sucks at it. And I mean much bigger names than you, I mean Wheel of Time, Robert Jordan level authors.
2. Quote: What if the System wanted him focused solely on cultivation so he could keep conjuring Chaos Patterns for it, and it nudged fate to remove all distractions from his path?
No. Just no. We get enough of this konsensical dumbassery from comic books where they give any possible BS reason to keep the hero unattached. No.
Relationships are a part of life, and what is even the POINT of cultivation if you don't also get to enjoy life? This is just ONE of the many things the MC talks about where he outright REFUSES to sit back for a moment and just be alive.
He talks about staying human, not becoming like the old monsters who will sacrifice anything for their cultivation... and the key to doing that is just this. Being human. Experiencing human life. Separating him from relationships and basic enjoyment is a mistake.
Yes, he needs to make sacrifices for his cultivation. That means TEMPERANCE. Taking a break here and there to enjoy life, finding a Dao companion... those are things he NEEDS to do.
Stop trying to make some unattached unrelatable moron, and leave him a freaking PERSON. That PERSON is who we relate to. The man who will do ANYTHING to save and protect his loved ones. And for that to exist, he has to HAVE loved ones.
You have already taken all his loved ones from him, he doesn't know Thea is alive, and his sister is FAR beyond his current reach. Let the man love. It can only help push him further, and also grant him ties to other groups, which can further his connections both plot-wise, and cultivation-wise.
Why authors fear relationships so much in cultivation stories I will never know...

I love this series, I found the first book on kindle and then read the story on royal road and have been hooked ever since. I was especially excited for this book because the previous book was as far as I had read on RR so this was all new to me and I loved it so much, so many surprises about characters we thought were lost not letting any spoilers out, still an amazing series and I can’t wait for the next one!

I’ve been a very big fan of this series and I’m surprised I’m not giving this novel a five automatically. The story was less gripping and felt almost repetitive in what was happening. There is still glances of future stories all with promise, so I’m hopeful the next book will smash it!

I'm loving the characters and story more each book and cannot wait to see what happens next. There are some mistakes here and there but they are just bumps in the road of a good story. Cheers!
