I bought this to play with my young daughter. We like to sit together and play games, I'll read and she'll move the character etc. The reason we were so excited about this game was because it's disney/there is frozen and the little mermaid/its basically every kids dream. BUT there is SO much dialogue. It is just constant reading and reading and reading. And the characters don't talk themselves so it's just reading what they say while they say other random words and make strange noises which doesn't match what is being read. We actually turned the sound off because it was annoying. Even my 9 year old/can read well daughter doesn't enjoy it much because you have to constantly talk to the other in game players. For example, the first thing you do in the game is go around saying hi to a bunch of other characters, and the conversations are long. We haven't even gotten to the fun characters like Elsa yet. And the other human characters are very creepy looking. They look like zombies sometimes with their strange eyes and expressions. There also isn't much diversity for the characters. Everyone is very pale and the colored options for your person aren't very dark/realistic. My kids are half Indian so that was a let down. My daughter ended up making a made up person instead of herself because there weren't many options.

I bought it for my six year old, but there is far too much reading. Can't really do anything without reading, and boy is it slow! This game is clearly for children older than six (due to the amount of reading involved), but will older children really like this? Odd design choices were made for this game.

This game is adorable and very fun! There’s so much to do and lots of minigames and quests spanning multiple genres. If you enjoy cozy games like Animal Crossing and you’re also a Disney fan you’ll really enjoy this one too.

Fun Game

This game does require quite a bit of reading, so the young ones in your family may struggle a bit. However, with a bit of guidance they should be fine. The fight sequences are not overly difficult and most of the game is you running around doing favors for Disney characters and collecting stuff.
My wife is 40 and a Disney fan. She has put in well over a 100 hours on this game. Most of the time she quits games with fight sequences because she sucks at them. She cannot run straight in a video game and will fall off anything and die. She is happy to report that you cannot fall off cliffs or mountains and die from impact. She does die from the battle scenes (quite regularly) but the game is friendly and puts you right back where you died with full power and lives. I think this may be the first video game she ever finishes (figures it is geared towards children, but I’ll let her bask in her glory).
She’s entertained and the game relaxes her after a stressful day while providing her with a false sense of security that she’s decent at video games.

It is an alright Disney game. You get hundreds of Disney outfits and costumes in this, and can design a Cafe with Disney themed food and furniture for it. You also go on adventures in multiple Disney Worlds including Frozen, Winnie the Pooh and The Little Mermaid to name a few. You get to a bunch of the Disney characters in it as well. It runs on real time, and celebrates real holidays with in game events. It is a rerelease from the 3Ds version. You can beat it in about 40 hours, or a bit longer if you wish to 100% it by collecting every piece of clothing and furniture. It is a simple and easy game to relax to. Wish there were more worlds to visit. Can get very repetitive. There aren't that many good Disney games out, but this one is ok.

Not for kids who cannot fully read.

For such an easy 5-6 year old age friendly game there should be an option in the game for each screen that needs to be read to be read out loud by the character. Almost EVERY screen needs to be read, it’s more like a book than a game.

Fun Relaxing Amazing graphics

This game is relaxing, fun and has amazing graphics. There is reading involved. There are goals to accomplish which require slaying ghosts. There's a wide variety of other activities to do as well. Ex. Surfing, searching for treasure, fishing, gardening etc. Designing and running the cafe and changing into lots of different outfits are my favorites. I definitely recommend to anyone who can read.

Fun but definitely a kids game
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 26, 2022Verified Purchase
I have an obsession with Animal Crossing and told this game was close to it if you ever got bored. I went ahead and bought it and was super excited. Until I started it. It is nothing like I thought. It's really fun but it's definitely a little kids game, whereas the new Disney Dream light Valley is identical to what I was looking for. It's fun though. I'm keeping it for my kiddos to play.
