"Dom's Guide to BDSM" was specifically written for Doms/Masters. In Volume 2 of this series, we’re going to focus on how to better communicate with a sub, and how to go back and forth with role playing. We’re going to teach you how to express yourself, how to read your sub and look for cues, and how to go about getting a real life BDSM relationship started.
we’re also going to discuss how to train your sub accordingly and with a purpose. This is important and is an often-neglected part of the BDSM community. The highly sensationalized, “purely sexual” relationships you read about or see depicted in TV or movies is not the only type of relationship forged. Some relationships really are all about personal missions, self-improvement and getting in touch with suppressed inner feelings.
We will cover this as well as the most important part of BDSM dominance — having a plan. You will learn how to be an excellent Dom and it all starts with a few simple steps.
Note: If you have not read Volume 1 in this series (Dom's Guide To BDSM Vol. 1: 49 Must-Know Tips On How To Be The Perfect Dom/Master Your submissive Will Truly Respect & Admire), it is highly recommended that you do so before taking on this book.

If your new, this book will give a good overall view of and hints at what to expect and how to define your purpose. Why a Dom does what he does.

Not a bad series

Quick and simple reads
Helpful in some aspects
Don't like the recaps from previous books
Can generate some good ideas.
Good book for beginners but I would imagine if you've complete 5-6 decent scene's or spent 25+ hours in scene enactment then you won't need this.

It contains good advice for beginners but nothing more... and very thin for a book costing almost seven pounds that has no illustrations.

Better, than Vol. 1, still not worth

I gave the first book in the series 2 stars, when it deserved 1,5.
I found volume 2 of the series slightly better, but not as much as to give it more than a 2.0, i.e. also 2 stars.
Main reason for this is, that the book has many of the same problems book 1 has, namely, that it is very short, too general (not specific enough) and contains too much common sense. Those issues haven’t changed compared to Vol. 1.
Nevertheless, it’s still a better read, as it is somewhat less iterative (thus, less boring). It is also slowly, but surely getting somewhere (contains more actual subject matter) and also incorporates more, as well as more useful tips (still not many though).
In summary, Volume 2 is not a complete waste of time and money, it’s an easy and more interesting read, than Vol. 1, which will give inexperienced newbies some more advice. But overall, it still fails to deliver. After reading book 1 (and now 2), although I have somewhat more of a glimps about BDSM now, I still feel like I don’t really have any more actual knowledge, than prior to reading both books. And this is kind of a letdown.
Nevertheless, since I bought all 3 books, I’ll proceed with reading Vol. 3 of the series.

This book wants us to believe that, on the one hand, BDSM couples are adventurous and not afraid to think out of the box. But also according to this book, Doms are he and subs are she. There might be one little blurb that not all Doms are he but every example refers to them as he/his and subs as she/her. How about instead, someone writing well-written, factual, instructional BDSM books that would encompass, I don’t know, like everybody? Not every bondage couple is Ward and June Cleaver.

Good reference material, or for people wanting to know more who may be exploring, this could be a good starting point to answer some basics.
