I love buying books for my nieces, nephews and my friend’s kids who are like family. I always make sure to check look the books over first to make sure they are good kids books, well written, creative, and fun. I was so sad that this book really seemed to do the exact opposite of what it says the purpose is! It’s a bit scary, quite scary for a little kid, but with zero resolve. More like “there are monsters in the dark following you everywhere and you are only safe if you’re with grandpa.” Lol… whaaaat?! Yeah, no help with explaining how it was the child’s imagination that made everything seem so scary! I did appreciate that it was a bilingual book, but the writing, story content, creativity, and living up to what the stated goal of the book= completely terrible! Sad because I bought it for my nephew who really needed it right then. I’d say… not worth it!
