Looks good until the install I had to modify this part to make it work there is a screen that slides inside of this part. It doesn’t come with this screen but has the slot for it, but I had to grind plastic out of the housing and off the screen to make it fit, then had no way to attach it where it basically had plastic rivets holding it in the original housing so I used an epoxy to glue it in place to make it work. Would’ve worked fine if the screen part that goes on the inside wasn’t there! Spent hours trying to make it work with that screen trying to make the screen fit in this housing just right. I guess if you don’t care about the screen part this housing works fine but the screen was in the original so I think it needs to go in!
I bought this as a replacement for my factory one. Unfortunately for anybody that works on these vehicles (Mine is a 2011 Chrylser 200, likely Dodge avenger models of the same era and maybe even sebrings) knows getting the air filter out is the easy part, but getting it back in is tough. I had done it myself a couple of times, but thought it must just be me. Unfortunately, it seemingly happens to the people that change my oil as well. I have had them chage the filter a few times now, and unfortunately i am not sure which garage broke the front clasp, and of course they both deny it. Thus, I heard this buzzing noise as i am going down the interstate in my 4 year old car, and it sounds like a music instriment reed vibrating from someone poorly playing. It was as I accelerated. I thought it might be something caught in the intake, so I looked, and the clasp was broke allowing just enough air to suck in by the gasket as the car needed the air for the power. I ordered this noting it was a great price, and I again adventured under the hood to fix it. It is the same design as the factory one, so it fits tight as well. But, it was a great price compared to getting a factory one, durable and maybe a bit more flex than the factory one, making it a bit more easy to put on. Either way, fit in like factory without issue.
It was a perfect fit. Easy to install and happy to find it on. Amazon. They are hard to snap closed. Even the original one was. I suspect that's why the tabs break off. I use channel locks to squeeze the lid to the base and then snap the tabs in place. Don't forget to move the sensor over.
Tight fit with some air filters. If you are careful and make sure it is square before applying any force to it, it works great. Installed on an 08 avenger. Dodge's design was poor and flimsy so when you break yours, this one is a great replacement.
