Differences Between IDLAs and DLAs
Integrated door lock actuators contain complex electronics that integrate a complete door latch assembly, including the lock and unlock mechanism, into the actuator. Standard door lock actuator are mechanical components connected by a series of rods and cables to the door lock mechanism to lock or unlock the vehicle door.
Don’t sacrifice safety with a cheap replacement door lock actuator.
Dorman delivers higher quality, more reliable solutions that are thoroughly tested and built for safety.
DLA and newer integrated door lock actuator (IDLA) designs are critical components that should pass strict Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and perform properly over the long term.
- In Dorman testing, competitor actuators have failed after just 700 test cycles – or roughly just six months of simulated use.
- Dorman actuators are tested up to 20,000 cycles – equal to 15 years of use.
- Common failure modes include electrical burn out or excessive wear to internal mechanical components
Benchmark tested up to 20,000 cycles
Temperature tested to ensure internal components last
Tensile tested to ensure strength of components
Restore the ease and convenience of remotely locking or unlocking any one of your vehicle’s doors with Dorman’s Door Lock Actuator Motor. The actuator returns the power door lock to proper operation—and our robust plastic housing helps protect the actuator from damage, ensuring year after year of service.

It took me just over an hour to install it; but there is no way I could have done it without watching others who have done it before.
Some say that they needed an impact wrench to get the three bolts off that hold the latch to the door. My tip is to put a Phillips driver bit in vise grips and then push hard against it so it doesn't slip. I couldn't have done it with a screw driver as it wss just slipping. Saved about $300 doing it myself.
They should suppose to work for longer time for this price.
Now i need to buy again and the installation.

Get yourself plastic prying tools to make life easier on taking off the door trim. Also, getting the three bolts off may be a challenge- mine didn’t want to budge so I drilled them out and replaced them with an SS 8mm x 16 equivalent from Menards.
