I've had 4-5 android boxes that I've eventually ended up giving to family because I found them too slow. My expectations with this unit was that it would be fast, easy to use and overall, just look aesthetically pleasing both in UI and hardware. So far from about a week of testing, this unit has met my expectations. Everything about the unit from set up and installing different apps has been flawless, so far so good.
👍 Performance -> This box is very quick (see video). From downloading apps to moving through menus, this unit takes less than a second on average to load. Definitely the fastest android box I've used and the quick menu option for clearing memory is amazing for keeping the unit fast after a few hours of usage.
👍 Ease of Setup -> This unit was quite literally plug in play. The loading screen is about 20 seconds and the unit was ready to go. It comes pre-installed with Netflix/YouTube and a few other useful applications. If this is your first android box and you're worried about installation, this is a great option.
👍 Appearance -> I really like the look of this unit. The LED ring adds a nice premium feel and the round body with a glossy finished top looks beautiful.
👎 Remote -> The remote wasn't the best I've ever used. It can kind of get confusing and doesn't have a built in keyboard like a lot of other units did. If you pick up this unit I'd recommend also picking up a remote with a keyboard as it makes it 100% easier to browse the box. If you have a wireless mouse/keyboard that will work with this unit as well as there are 2 USB ports on the back.
👎 Peripherals -> Unfortunately the HDMI cable that came with the unit didn't work. I messaged the seller and they sent me a new cable without hesitation. I'm currently using my own HDMI cable for the box but will update the functionality of the new cable when it arrives. The power cable is roughly 2-3 feet and so you need to make sure there is an outlet close enough to your TV available to install the unit. The device does NOT come with batteries so make sure you have 2 AAA batteries on hand for this bad boy.
👍 Video Quality -> As our household recently got a 4K TV for Christmas, I was excited to see how good the 4K quality options were. From 4K YouTube videos and Netflix documentaries, the quality is stunning. This unit can definitely playback good video.
👍/👎 Storage -> The device definitely is lacking in storage with 32GB of ROM. If you're planning on installing tons of applications on this device, consider picking up a micro SD card to increase the memory. I personally picked up a 32GB micro SD (~$10 so not a huge deal) and have plenty of storage now. Definitely something to consider though, I wish the unit has a bit more storage.
👍 WiFi Connectivity -> Now this isn't something that I can test too well as I have very strong WiFi in my house. With that being said, the unit didn't hesitate or have any issues connecting to my WiFi. If you do run into these issues, try and have the android box somewhere with no wall between the unit and your router as this will certainly help.
FINAL THOUGHTS ☄
Overall, this is a great sub $100 unit. If you're looking for a well rounded android box with good specs, nice aesthetics and that's relatively easy to use, i'd definitely recommend picking this unit up. Due to the small ROM storage and the basic remote, i'd give this unit a solid 4.5/5 given the excellence in other areas.
