So I decided against returning and I’m glad! Still not thrilled at the size for the price or the fact that it takes the FULL 72 hours to cure BUT I noticed right away while mixing that the water like consistency of this resin created ZERO bubbles in one of my very detailed molds that is prone to air bubbles. Also having such a long working time made cleaning up spills possible instead of leaving sticky resin everywhere. With that being said don’t even attempt to test it before 72 hours have passed, it will be sticky and you will mess it up. I’ve also learned that if you add pigment, glitter, Ect too soon it will all mix and or sink to the bottom because it will settle before it cures due to the consistency, for example I made 3 separate bowls of green, dark blue, and gold, and when I unmolded it I found all the colors blended into one weird shade and the glitter mostly on the bottom, Learn from my mistakes because when done right this resin cures crystal clear like glass! Also it’s a huge plus in my opinion to finally have an environmentally safer product. No smells while mixing either! Not sure if I will use regularity but definitely an option for special molds!
This product is amazing however the product description is very misleading. It’s states 1.5L kit and that’s me assuming a 1:1 ratio (which I shouldn’t have assumed) it is a 2:1 ratio meaning an equivalent amount of product to .750mL. There should be more details for this product in the description...
Filling some holes in a walnut slab, I taped the bottom, screwed a board underneath, and caulked all sides. This product still managed to find a way out. It's like water. This product is more suited for plastic molds and 100% sealed containers. If there is even a tiny, microscopic hole, it'll find a way through.
Also, takes forevverrrr to dry. And way too expensive for what you get...
This epoxy has a high viscosity which makes it really hard to work with as a sealant on most surfaces. You will need a mold if you're going to cover a surface area. It also has a long dry time. If you are doing mold castings it works great and the clarity is amazing. That's an applications of the epoxy are difficult to achieve because of the viscosity
The product was much less expensive then what I would have paid locally. The EcoPoxy worked just as I hoped it would. And the most impressive thing of all, the product was delivered to my doorstep the same day I ordered it!!
