The book is basically the 12 Days of Christmas with the words changed and Monsters replacing the Lords, Hens and varoius other miscreants from the traditional song.
So the book is long. My one year old checked out around 5 or 6. She enjoyed when we sang the words (you almost have no choice) but it was always a struggle to get to the end.
Perhaps when she's older next Christmas we may have more success.
