I am not a hair stylist but have been cutting my own hair successfully for more than 10 years. It is a very short style, so requires very frequent touch-ups (every week), and when I used to just use my hair scissors (very good quality), it was very difficult to eliminate all scissor marks. I bought my first pair of Equinox thinning shears a couple of years ago, and have never looked back. What a game changer they have been for me. Since then I have bought a spare for myself, and one as a gift, a spare for the recipient of the first gift, and now a gift for someone else. the quality is excellent, the teeth close very smoothly, and cut a good proportion of the piece of hair closed in it (not too much or too little). They allow me not only to thin some bulk from my hair, but also to gradually shape and fine-tune the haircut with so much less stress than before. I am so, so happy with them. Definitely recommend.
