This fixed my 2003 Sport Trac.

I painted and then installed this handle in the driver's door of my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. It is my second replacement - during the install, I noticed that the previous (now Broken) handle was very loose - either the bolts loosened over time, or I never got them tight enough. This installed as easily as the previous replacement - not my idea of fun, but after watching a YouTube video and carefully observing what goes where, it can be done in a reasonable amount of time. It has been installed for a couple of months and appears to be holding up well.
NOTE: while you're doing this replacement, be sure to adjust the handle linkage so you don't have to lift it excessively to open the door.

Seems As Good As The Original Part.

It was pretty easy to install. Not exactly a piece of cake, but not due to the product. The clip that holds the bottom of the rod in place was a pain on my vehicle. I ended up breaking the new part trying to bend the rod (100% my fault). But since this can be used on either side of the vehicle I just ordered another one & saved the first on for when the other side breaks. As described in the listing, this does not come with mounting bolts. I thought I should mention this since others who reviewed it were surprised they weren't included. SInce the one I was replacing still had the factory rivets in it I went to my local hardware store & picked up a couple of stainless steel 1" #10 screws, washers and locking nuts for next to nothing & I was good to go. If this one breaks I won't have to buy them again since they're already there & should be good for the duration. There are metal handles available for about 3X the cost of these. But since the factory ones were also plastic & lasted about 18 years I don't expect to be replacing this again.
