The world is in turmoil. Earthquakes and huge rifts have desolated the land everywhere. Out of the rips in the earth spill the riftspawn. Unnatural creatures too terrifying to behold. They are very aggressive and beast like. No one has any idea how to defeat the horrific riftspawn and return them to the void where they belong. These creatures hound and devour humans without pity.
The damage the upheavals caused is extensive and had only just begun when more of the demon spawn attacked the city, of Jalis. Now it is descovered that literally thousands more are on the march, under the control of a powerful mage turned by the Hunger, into the new leader of each of the beast like spawn. On their way to the city, the horde of foul creatures are set upon the locals, killing them without remorse. Now it has become known that they are on the march, the inhabitants must flee if they are to have any hope of survival.
Kostan the Emperor, is a young man who has had leadership thrust upon him at a young age. Not even 20 and in charge of all his people, he struggles to help them against a terrible future he can see coming. A future filled with death if they don't all pull together.
Sacra the spiritist does her best to aid Kostan. She can see with her spiritist sight, the auras of the evil horde and can help warn others whilst the threat is still some distance away. Together they try to save the people, people who barely know them. The people...both atal and prov, need to have faith in Emperor Kostan...it is a strength he can use against Parveld and his evil riftspawn. Parvelds legions of riftspawn and his comminion with the dark power of the, make him a formidable enemy and there are some incredibly vicious battles.
The breach must be closed or the evil riftspawn will continue to flow into Jalis. The rift's seal must be reforged to close the rift, or the earthquakes and colossal damage will only get worse and on top of all that, Deepwinter time is approaching.
This is a story is filled with vibrancy and has a wonderfully woven world of such colour and imagination that its a true pleasure to read. It is by, exciting, horror filled and although it is filled with bloodthirsty battle, it is remarkably readable.

The Empire is shattered. From the northern ice fields to the storm-battered coast, chasms gash the landscape. Hordes of twisted beasts ravage towns and cities, and still, the people riot.
But the prophecies offer hope. Bolstered by the newfound, if fragile, peace with Stormshard, Emperor Kostan begins to fortify his rule. Savra, torn between her desire to learn her family’s fate and the duty she feels to her Emperor, delves deeper into her magic in hopes she can answer both calls.
At the heart of the Empire, an ancient seal will soon fail. But Savra and Kostan will fight to the end. Together they represent the Empire’s last hope for salvation.

I am so glad I have found this author!

I’m a picky reader- I generally only enjoy JRR.Tolkien, Robert Jordan and Terry Pratchett - and they are the only male writers I can stand. Since lockdown I’ve been reading so much more then my usual 25 hours a week - and was- quite frankly- desperate for fiction fantasy - which didn’t rely on ‘washboard abs’ and smouldering looks. Thankfully this wonderful writer has provided intelligent, and exciting writing of the -what’s going to happen next- rather than the other well worn -I don’t know what it’s called- romance/paranormal romance? Anyway- this writer is a gamer and this gives her work a depth of perspective I’d not come across before.
Maybe this review sounds snobby and I’ve not done it justice at all- but it’s just how I’ve found it- and I cannot help being a geek.
Enjoy:)

The Broken Land book 3

Fate of the Drowned, book 3 of the Broken Land. Wow, what an epic story! I have never read something so amazing! So beautifully written, so full of twists and turns you'll never expect.
People are in riot, beasts ravages freely and the Empire is destroyed. The question is; can it be saved? And by who? Is there any hope left?
Emperor Kostan and Savra will fight and do whatever it takes to save the Empire. Meanwhile, Savra is desperate to know what happened to her family.
I'm so glad I was a part of this journey, to get to follow the growth of Kostan and Savras as characters. It's an angst filled story, about family, love and following your own road. Even learning to follow your own heart.

Awesome!

I loved the first two books and this third one was a great conclusion. Personally, I loved not only the good vs. evil aspect, but also the way some characters had changed and came back from previous books (just like in the other two in the series). It was very exciting with all the forces, spirits, monsters and fighting. Savra and Kostan were, of course, my favorites!
