A warm book that introduces the concept of gender identity to the youngest listener from writer Theresa Thorn.
Some people are boys. Some people are girls. Some people are both, neither, or somewhere in between.
This sweet, straightforward exploration of gender identity will give children a fuller understanding of themselves and others. With child-friendly language, It Feels Good to Be Yourself provides young listeners and parents alike with the vocabulary to discuss this important topic with sensitivity.

My son had a non-binary teacher in kindergarten and I bought this book to help him understand gender identity. It explains topics that can be hard to understand, even for adults, very clearly and succinctly. I recommend it as an easy to grasp reference book for anyone looking to gain a better understanding of gender identities beyond cisgender.

Fantastic book! I can’t recommend it enough, for all ages!

Our child has been non-gender conforming since they were 3. Now that they are 8, they have been very frustrated by the lack of non-binary characters in media. They have read this book several times and are so excited to see their identity represented. The book has also helped them to understand not making assumptions about people based on their appearance. It's really a fantastic book.

This book takes the myth that "all things are subjective", and applies it to the human body, to create a cult like, emotions based sales pitch that tries to erase the objective fact of biological genetic gender, and replace it with something that is literally undefinable. An undefinable thing, both logically and literally, doesn't exist. I can see, with the way this book is pitched, and how it is designed to sppeal to emotions and not logical thought, how so many parents are fooled into denying reality.
They are tricked into thinking that gender identity ideology, the thought experiment, that it is actually real, when it is not.
The reality that exists inside your head (subjective reality), which includes what you think and what you perceive, what you feel and how you express yourself, is a different kind of reality from the reality that exists regardless of your mind (objective reality).
Objective reality describes truth, subjective reality describes preferences.

Excellent book to introduce language around gender

Don't listen to the reviews clearly left by TERFs. This is an excellent book that introduces and explains language around gender for children. It doesn't encourage anything but being yourself, whoever that is. It's a lovely explanation of different gender types and is careful to say that everyone is different and everyone is valid. The illustrations are beautiful and contain lots of diversity too. I highly recommend this book.

This book is great but probably a bit too advanced for my 2 year old.
