This is my first time reading this author. I'm not sure if I'll be reading more. It's a serial, so I probably shouldn't have read it because of that. But I was curious.

The story is super short, taking less than 30 minutes to read. You get to see Selene's normal life before she enters her dreams, where the paranormal comes to life. You don't learn a lot about Selene or her soulmate, and it feels like there's still so much to go, with so many unanswered questions. It was hard to connect to Selene as a result.

Overall, the story was too short for anything substantial to happen. It feels like a partial story, with the beginnings of an epic story, but I'm not sure if that's the point of this series in the end. If it's only for the souls to meet, then yes, it's done. They meet and mate, but it's quick and sensual. There's not a lot of explanation as to why all this is happening, and no world building. It's well-written, with few grammar mistakes, but I wish therr had been less of the office, and more description of the world Selene is about to enter.

Very interesting read! Seemed short, but it is a serial, so maybe there will be a bigger picture in the end. The first chapter didn't really grab me, but the second chapter dream-sequence was very cool. I really enjoyed the action and when Selene meets her mystery man, but, like I said, it was just so short. I feel like there could have been much more world-building, but it was great for what it was. I hope that the rest in the series culminate in something big!

This is the first book I've read by Courtney, and I must I'm looking forward to more.

I gave this 4 stars. It is fast paced, sweet, steamy, and did leave me wanting more. I definitely hope we more to this story. I hope she intertwines the next three and has some big BOOM happen in the finale.
