From USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Jewel E. Ann comes a novel so heartfelt and real it redefines the meaning of love.
I’m the wrong guy in the right place the night I steal Tatum Bradshaw from another man. When she mistakes me for her blind date, I decide she deserves a man who shows up on time...like me. Emmett Riley, Mr. Punctual.
Once I confess my true identity and convince her I’m not a creep - just a thief - it’s only a matter of time before my sexy smile and quick wit claim her heart, her hand in marriage, and the perfect life.
Unfortunately, perfection is an illusion, like the promises of our wedding vows. No one can prepare for the unimaginable - the heartbreaking exception to all the rules in life.
When 30 seconds destroys everything, I have to find a new existence and keep my promise to always love our daughter, Lucy, the most.
For Lucy, I will keep a secret, and I will watch my wife drift into the arms of another man.
Given the chance...can I reclaim my wife and the pieces of our life?

Beautifully written.
In the beginning, I had a hard time committing to this book. Instead of becoming absorbed, I kept checking my phone, social media, etc. I liked the characters but not the female love interest and, as a woman her age, I suspect that was my struggle. I'm going to warn you... this is one helluva male protagonist. He will ruin you for all other fictional men (also maybe some real ones). In the end, I loved everyone and everything and this book will stay with me.
IMHO: It's a bit of work but it's well worth it.
From stages of great happiness to get darkness and despair.
The true love of a parent to protect and undying love tested and never faltered .
Happy tears at the end

To say this book is emotional is an understatement. I was addicted from the first chapter until the last. My poor heart went through the ringer reading this book and my heart went out to both Emmett and Tatum but in both totally different ways. Boy did I just LOVE Emmett. What would I give for a love like that. He never for one minute gave up loving Tatum, the man is a saint in my eyes. As much as my heart broke for them both, there were so many times I wanted to yell at Tatum and give her some advice. Oh the emotions, the frustrations were eating away at me. Such a remarkable book.
Of course this book is called For Lucy for a reason and Lucy was a fabulous character to get to know and read. She was the glue, their daughter, maybe their saviour ?

Wallow in Jewel's amazing words
Phenomenal as always !!

5 years later Emmett is still madly in love with Tatum. She has seemingly moved on, is in a serious relationship with another man, and yet he just cannot let her go. As they start to grow closer again, Emmet starts to wonder: he stole her once, can he do it again?
Well. I spent about 85% of this book trying not to ugly cry. I went in blind and holy emotions, Batman! Don’t do that. Don’t go in blind. You need to be emotionally prepared for this one!
Told mostly from Emmett’s point of view, it flashes back and forth between the present and the past which worked really well for the telling of this story. Emmet and their daughter, Lucy, have a secret which was fairly easy to guess - at least the gist of it. I totally understand why they kept it from Tatum but I feel like sooooo much extra heartache could have been avoided if he and Tatum had just communicated better.
I also feel like Tatum was quite…I don’t know… selfish? But that’s not quite it. She very much seemed to have one rule for Emmett and another rule for everyone else. To suggest her boyfriend would want to see her daughter more than once a week but it was “different” when Emmett brought up the fact that that’s exactly what he got in the custody agreement for his OWN daughter? I get that she was angry and blamed him for the loss of their son, but it just seemed really vindictive. Especially when Emmett had only ever been agreeable. And especially after what happened with her and Lucy.
Emmett is just the most wonderful character. You feel his pain, his grief, his love, jealousy, and everything in between. And yet he’s all give.
So grab the tissues, maybe a puppy or a kitten to cheer you up after, and dive in.

I loved Emmett from the get go. The way he got his girl was pure genius and he loved Tatum hard. with every fibre of his being. He was the most understanding, loving, forgiving family man. Someone who I felt Tatum didn't deserve and that's why this wasn't the full 5 star read for me. Tatum was literally a b**ch and yet Emmett's love for her didn't waiver. I don't know anyone who would constantly make excuses for a persons behaviour when they are dealt the kind of hand Emmett was.
I'm glad Emmett got his HEA in the end. The man's soul was beautiful through and through. No one deserved it more.

Once again another amazing story told in a way that only jewel can 🥰
For Lucy to me was a total love letter from a father to his daughter and the lengths he go to to protect her.
You never know what your going to get when you start a jewel book you just open and read and it takes you on a journey, a journey that normally breaks your heart but mostly mends it again.
You can’t really say too much about anything cause it’s a book you need to experience to understand.
None of this probably makes sense but I really don’t know what else to say apart from
