Once again Wilder and his real life wife Gilda Radner work really well together. Great cast including Richard Widmark as the gangster in pursuit of the couple thinking they have a valuable tape. Very funny but also a fast moving adventure film. I loved it.

I got this as part of a Gene Wilder double set (Hanky Panky + Funny About Love). Thank god they have been released on MOD as some buyers were asking for crazy money for Region2 versions which are OUT OF PRINT now. I have a few MOD ( Made On Demand ) sets now and this ranks as one of my favourites. Maybe not Gene Wilder in his prime but he is still wonderful in both these forgotten comedy classics.

After having watched Hanky Panky, it is difficult to avoid drawing comparisons with Silver Streak. Unlike this effort Silver Streak had style, humour and suspense. Wilder displays an exaggerated manic reaction to the events that surround him in this thriller and simply fails to entertain. Perhaps he felt that he had to carry the load on his own. Although watchable,it is not fair to suggest that this is a movie that lives up to the Hitchcock genre,hence the three stars.

Wow, Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner working beautifully together. Terrible shame that she is no longer with us, and very sad for dear Gene Wilder to lose her at such an young age.

The movie has lots going for it. It's funny, full of action, and mystery. I love it, especially with such a good cast and different locations. A little Hitchcockian too!
