But I can't help but wonder, why are ALL of the trucks men? There are a lot of various pieces of construction equipment to get through, and every single one is "he". In our house, the digger is "she" and the cement mixer is "they," which is an easy enough fix, but it does interrupt the flow a bit when I have to stop and think of the right word - and when the kid starts reading on his own, they'll go back to being he's.
I had only wished the book either personified at least one of the machines as female or left them all as gender neutral. I know plenty of female operators in the industry.
**the book itself is wonderful. and was purchased as part of a gift for my son as a keepsake which is why i am upset it is damaged. he loves construction.

I know that for some small font is not an issue, so here is a picture of it next to a couple of other board books for reference so you can decide for yourself how small the font is!
