How do you pull off a poop party is all about being creative and letting your imagination take over. Samantha Berger has done it again! What a fun a fun book! Julian reminds me of ME when I was a little boy! I was always wanting do things different from everyone else on special events. It would have never shocked my parents if I wanted to do something as strange as having a Great Big Poop Party!
I loved how the story plays out from the initial shock of Julian's family to soon, having the family using their creativity to have the most memorable party ever! There are so many great poop references that made me laugh out loud. Bonus! There are even some recipes at the very end of the book, too!
The quality of the illustrations are top notch. The expressions and the style of all the drawings are superb! The colors are so vibrant and playful.
You will definitely want this book to be part of your library.

WOW- I was expecting another typical, in your face, gross out book when my son picked this one out. I was so pleasantly surprised to find out it's really about creativity and supporting someone's ideas. I absolutely loved this story about a family coming together to realize their child's vision for a GREAT BIG POOP PARTY! As the story unfolded, we found ourselves getting more and more excited about the party-- and then when we found Poop slime and Poop Beer Float recipes in the back- sent us immediately out to the store so we could create our own! So much fun! We highly recommend !

When I first saw the cover of The Great Big Poop Party, my kids screamed, “Can we get this? Please please please please pleeeeeeeeeeaase?” and I thought ugh! The last thing we need is a book about poop! But I got it for them anyway, and as we read it, they were cackling with laughter. And I must admit, I was too. It turned out it wasn’t a book about poop, but instead a book about letting kids lead the way, and what inspired creations can come from adults leaning into what inspires kids. We went on to make the Poop-beer float recipe in the back of the book - and laughed more than we have in years. I highly recommend this book - it will make your whole family laugh!”
