On the other hand I had the black one arrived and it was what I had orded. It was the XL. I have put it in the printer, and everything is working fine with it.

Can anyone explain why this happened??

Except when you put them all in, your shiny new printer won't take them because the CYAN is defective. And now it's been a month or something and you don't even know if you can return it and you just need to print the stupid thing NOW and can't. And your shiny new printer is like, "HEY MAN, I WON'T DO IT WITHOUT THE CYAN, EVEN IF ALL THE OTHERS ARE FINE AND DANDY, LOL."
If this happens to you, just know that you, too, can spend a million years looking up workarounds on YouTube and beyond, only to end up lost in the HP support desk pages. If you can finally locate the right page and IF you can still give them the printer serial number and the defective batch code off the box your ink arrived in, they will mail you another. But not before they send you three emails to confirm your name and address.
What I'm saying is that if this happens to you and you need the ink today, you need to go to the store, because although HP will help, they will take a million years to do so.
In short, PRINTERS: ONE STAR. It's 2020, we should have this working better by now.
They are a disgraceful ripoff! Life expectancy is between 1 and 2 months--which means my cost of HP 910 ink cartridges is equivalent to the cost of a new printer every 2-3 months.
My advice: Don't purchase an HP printer that requires HP 910 ink cartridges. Or better yet: Don't purchase any of the new-model HP ink-guzzling printers.
