A Disgrace to the HP Name
Reviewed in Canada on August 24, 2018
This printer is an utter disgrace to the HP name. I remember a time when the HP logo was a guarantee of good quality. No more. Now they sell things that don't work, and offer zero customer service, just to add insult to injury.
To be fair, first the pros: It is indeed small, light, and nice looking. We got it because we need a very small printer for our micro office in an RV. It prints just fine, if a bit noisy. And slow, of course, but we expected that for the price.
Next, the cons: It is billed as a printer that can print, scan, and copy.
Well, scanning is vital for most of us, but on this printer, scanning DOES NOT WORK. You can open the scanning function. Then, as there is no flatbed (this a micro printer), you obviously think that you would give the printer the page to scan by putting it in the manual paper feed. Well, you can do that, but the printer refuses to accept that it is there. See the screen shot I uploaded. It just keeps saying "No document loaded."
So, there is no way to scan. Off to Staples ...
This is not just us - I have searched the Internet, and found many people desperately trying to get help with this "No document loaded" issue. To add yet more insult to injury, the HP people who try to answer the question tell us to "put the paper in the flatbed." THERE IS NO FLATBED! Those experts giving advice don't even know that they are dealing with a printer that has no flatbed.
So, if you want something small that does nothing but print slowly, this would be fine. But if you actually want what we have all come to expect - a printer that does it all, including scan - do not waste your money on this printer.
