Product description

"Hex Twisting is a multivalent approach to destroying nasty magic sent your way. With techniques from tarot to smoke cleansing, from unhexing your hearth to handling hired spirits, help yourself with this handy guide to counter curses."―Amy Blackthorn, author of Sacred Smoke and Blackthorn's Protection Magic

"Hex Twisting is the book you want, but didn't know you needed. Not only does Diana break down questions to ask along the way, but she also encourages readers to look more closely at their lives and learn to trust what they know before they step into action. After all, no curse is unbreakable, she reminds us."―Irisanya Moon, author of Reclaiming Witchcraft

"Powerful, informative, and witty, this book addresses complex subjects with clarity and practical, experience-based wisdom to offer workable solutions to combat the turmoil of hexes, curses, troublesome spirits and so much more. Diana Rajchel has gifted the witchcraft community with an invaluable guide that should be a must-read for all magical practitioners."―Michael Furie, author of
The Witch's Book of Potions

"What charms me most in Diana Rajchel's Hex Twisting is how friendly it feels for a book on cursing. The author's warm (and often a little wicked) sense of humor is balanced by compassionate and heartfelt moments dealing with the aftermath of spiritual intrusion and lingering magical trauma...Hex Twisting shows just how clearly dealing with curses and counter-curses is and has always been a part of magical practice, and it invites the reader to build upon that history in ways that align with their own ethical codes. It's a smart, funny, and engaging read."―Cory Thomas Hutcheson, author of New World Witchery and host of the New World Witchery podcast

"One of the most complete guides of modern defensive spell craft you can find. Diana Rajchel bravely inspires her readers to experiment with an exorbitant variety of spells, incantations, and even successfully pulls from different forms of magic to guide the reader through the process to achieve the best results...Whatever your intentions are regarding your enemies or whatever the signs you perceive of a cursed person looking for help, Hex Twisting is there to guide you step by step through the whole process."―Elhoim Leafar, author of The Magical Art of Crafting Charm Bags

About the Author

Diana Rajchel began her career planning to serve as clergy and write about all subjects spiritual. It did not occur to her or anyone else to say with what agency she might assume priesthood. The result of this oversight in intention setting is that she is now an itinerant city priestess, well-practiced witch, and somewhat unintentional subversive. Her background includes Wicca, folk witchcraft, conjure, and a whole lot of experience organizing people that don’t like knowing that they’re organized. Diana splits her time between San Francisco, California, where she co-owns Golden Apple Metaphysical, and southwestern Michigan, where she runs Earth and Sun spiritual coaching with her partner. In between her wanderings she teaches as part of the Magick 101 series for Wicked Grounds Annex in San Francisco, and teaches and reads tarot at Elements Kalamazoo in Michigan. Diana has 25 years’ experience as a professional tarot reader and western herbalist and has 29 years’ experience as a professional writer. She is also the pet DragonCat to a very ladylike boxer named Nora.

Diana Rajchel is, for lack of a better word, a witch. She loves magick; it is her art and innovation, her mistress and her true love. But just like with any of her lovers, she has issues with being tied down. She appreciates Conjure, traditional witchcraft, and both American and British Wicca. She admires and honors the paths of her ancestors as best she can, and the paths of ancestors that differ from her. Even ceremonial and chaos magick charm her. She loves them all, but she is not them or the titles that stem from them. She is Pagan and animist. Spiritualist and psychic. She’s a theist that is agnostic about religion. She’s terrible with arbitrary rules that are intended only to control behavior rather than serve a greater good.

She is, most definitely, a city priestess. She can engage with manifested spirits and those innate to the land. What they teach her tends to bleed far beyond the borders of established traditions. She believes that separation from spirit and nature are arbitrary limits we place on ourselves and that such separation has nothing to do with geographic location.

Rajchel (pronounced like the first name) lives in San Francisco where she runs the Emperor Norton Pagan Social. She has a psychic life-coaching practice to assist those in the fall-between-society’s-cracks parts of life. She is the author of Divorcing a Real Witch (Moon Books) and the Mabon and Samhain installments of the Llewellyn Sabbat essentials series.
