Isabel is an award-winning science writer and the author of more than 150 books about science and nature for young audiences. Her critically-acclaimed picture book Moth: An Evolution Story, illustrated by Daniel Egnéus, was awarded the 2020 AAAS Subaru Prize for Excellence in Science Books. Isabel also writes features for children’s science magazines The Week Junior Science+Nature and Whizz Pop Bang, and outreach projects.

Isabel grew up in a low income, single-parent family and attended five different state schools before studying Human Sciences at the University of Oxford. She has devoted her career to inspiring children from diverse backgrounds to pursue science careers, including a research degree at the University of Cambridge exploring science education.

Moth: An Evolution Story won the AAAS Subaru Prize for Excellence in Science Books, and Isabel's books have also been shortlisted for the Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize, the SLA Information Book Awards, the Deutscher Jugendliterature Preis, the Association of Science Education Book of the Year, the English 4–11 Picture Book Awards and the Blue Peter Book Awards.

I chose this e-book for my 3rd grade daughter who LOVES to read and do crafts. She got a new tablet for christmas, and I installed the kindle reader onto it so that she could read all of the books that I've downloaded for her. This is, by far, her favorite book, and the one that she looks at most often! I've been thinking about getting her a hamster of her own, so we love that this book has little 'hamster facts' and fun ways to make her own little hamsters until she gets the real one she wants so badly in a couple months for her birthday! She has already made a little 'pet record book' (though we sure didn't have any 'hamster wrapping paper' to use lol) for keeping track of her hamster's every move!

This little e-book is great for hamster lovers and craft-lovers alike, and would honestly be great for little boys or little girls. It's best for those who already own hamsters, as there are quite a few projects meant to be used by a real-life hamsters, but It's been perfect for our family - we're going to have this little hamster a very wide array of toys and things to use before he/she ever gets to our home!

The E-book is VERY well-designed, and well written, and is a pleasure for me to read with my daughter. I'm a graphic designer so poorly designed books are really difficult for me to want to look at more than once. This book is great, and the craft projects are all so much fun! I received this e-book for the purpose of my review, but my opinions are 100% my own, and based on MY personal use. I was not told what to say, only asked to give an honest review based on my own experience with the product.

U.S. Is home to over 1.7 million pet hamsters. They have up to 10 babies. Paper towel rolls make great ramps, tunnels, and hidey-. They love to gnaw and shred and chew. You can stuff hay down a tube. You can also hide treats and fold the ends. Hamsters are awake evenings and nights. Greens keep them healthy. You can also make them a maze out of cardboard boxes.
The website gives you free items to download. This book is suppose to be for 3-5 year olds but, I think everyone will enjoy it. I found this book on a website for free for an honest and unbiased review.

Such a cute and super fun crafts for kids book! Hip Hamster Projects has lots of interesting and creative projects for kids of all ages. Some of these Hip Hamster Projects are better suited for older kids but most of them were simple enough for my four year old!
These projects include things you can make for your hamster as well as things you could make that were hamster related. I really loved the hamster tunnels that you can make out of empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls. Such a creative re-use of something we have tons of in my house.
I highly recommend Hip Hamster Projects for any child who has hamsters, especially if they like crafts!
