Ce n'est pas clair dans la description mais oui la version francaise en 5.1 est incluse. Et oui malheureusement le code pour le téléchargement de la ersion digitale est expiré depuis le mois de novembre...Malgré tout, un merveilleux coffret ajouté à ma collection ! Merci !

Great content, poor packaging

Like a few others have posted pictures of, the casing that holds the discs is less than exceptional. When the package arrived 5 of the plastic pieces that hold the discs in space had been shattered. Further to that, the plastic hinge within two of the cases was also shattered. The case itself is nice, but the plastic is complete garbage. As such, I will have to get some sleeves to keep these discs safe.
The content on the discs is fantastic and I have not had any issues with playback.

Great product for a Hobbit fan

The pricing for these are mostly reflected in the sheer amount of bonus footage you are provided with (behind the scenes, director's commentary, etc.). The extended scenes themselves are nice but not necessarily the selling point of the product. As a fan though, I would recommend!

I was a little worried about this after a couple comments about the packaging being cheap, but it just arrived today and the packaging is on par with the LOTR extendend trilogy boxed set I also own. The cardboard is thick, the box is solid. It's great! I wish they matched in appearance more closely with the LOTR set, but as you can see from the vendor's picture, they match in style. It also arrived nice and quick, as orders from Amazon tend to do. :)

Great films, in a nice presentation. The box has a fold-away "cover" like the flap of an envelope. The box doesn't seem as sturdy as the boxes for the LOTR dvds, but it's still firm enough to give that good-quality feel.

As expected, there are more behind-the-scenes specials than you probably want to chew through in one sitting, for each film. (Does anyone else find Peter Jackson dreadfully boring to listen to? Just me? Okay.)
