Not the same book/ words you might be expecting!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on May 2, 2016Verified Purchase
Needs to be clear that this in not the same wording as the buyer might be familiar with (didn't see other review warning of this until after receipt). Not sure if this is an international edition but the owls have lost their names and as a result half the alliteration in the original(?) is missing (is a short book). Pretty sure the previous main character (Billy Blue rather than Little Blue) also made the owl sound we are more familiar with rather than the rather strange (to a British reader of my age at least) 'hoo hoo'... Ruined it for me. Returning.

perfect bedtime book for baby
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on December 17, 2014Verified Purchase
My six month old son loves this book! In fact, it has become his favourite and even at such a young age he looks carefully at the pictures and turns the pages. It has become his bedtime favourite - sometimes we have to read it to him 2 or 3 times before he's had enough. It's just the right combination of bright, simple images and text that's not too long yet still interesting.

Slightly Dissapointed

We found this book in our local library and my son really enjoyed it so I thought I'd buy the book. However upon receiving it, I've found that the words have been changed?! What happened to Billy Blue, Gertie Green, Rodney Red, etc?! Why has it been changed?! It's kind of spoiled the book because we've got used to the names and words in the other book. :(
However it does still rhyme and flow so I guess we'll just have to get used to the changes.
